Got my RE Std 350 CI

Hi All,

Last week I finally for my new Royal Enfield Standard 350 CI engine bike. It was a wait for almost 2 months and in the end once I saw the bike I felt its worth the wait.

As most of you know RE has stopped production and sales for the CI engine bikes. In the beginning of the year when my dad gave green signal to buy another bike, I knew the next one would be from RE stable. I went to HSR dealer in Bangalore and was shocked to know that CI models have been stopped. He showed my the new CL 500. Technically its a brilliant bike, but still my heart kept on beating for the good old bull.

Contacted every RE dealer in Bangalore and got the same reply from all. But one guy told that RE Standard 350 CI sales is still on in Kerala. Immediately started contacting all dealers in Kerala. But none of them were willing to book bike for me and my friend since this would be interstate bike registration. But one guy helped us. His name is Javeen Mathew of 'Javeens' in Kottayam. My booking happened over phone and I did a wire transafer of the advance amount. This guy was very helpful from beginning till end when me and my friend went to Kottayam to take delivery of our bikes.

I am a proud owner of the BULL. I guess ours is one of the last produced CI engine bikes from RE. In one week, the bike has done just close to 150 kms. The moving parts have become smooth after 150kms compared to how it was when I rode it for first time.

Will post the pictures soon...

Congrats on the purchase of the BULL Abhishek. Post some pictures of your ride dude. Why did you choose CI than a UCE engine?

Congrats dude. I too have a 4 month old Std 350 CI. It is the best.

Anyways,
RE has finally stopped the CI engines and have come out with UCE engines.

Check out the new Electra UCE Royal Enfield | Electra Twinspark

I am feeling sad that CI has been stopped.

Do you feel RE is doing the right thing?

Thank you all for the wishes. And apologies for the long delay in replying to this thread.

In the last one month I have done 1050 kms on this bull, with a couple of short trips and one long trip last weekend. The long trip was about 500 odd kms over 2 days. And it was extremely comfortable. Even after riding it for 2 days there was no pain anywhere in the body. And the seat is well designed to make long trips a pleasure.

I am still doing the running in of the bike. Max 60 kmph.

The dealer helped me in booking the transportation. He had booked in one of the private Volvo bus. I must say that the dealer was very helpful in the overall process. Even though the temporary registration was done in Kerala(Kottayam), the address given was my Bangalore address itself. And this helped in getting the bike registered here smoothly.

The thump of CI engine and the vintage feeling while riding on this engine. I just cant express more in words about this, can go on and on and on. Once you ride this bike, you will fall in love with this immediately.
