I find the looks are similar to that of a Pulsar and check out this link http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...ow/1336061.cms the likely person to endorse the ad campaign --> Dhoni

Hope this Apache would rock and not rattle

Well...looks like TVS is going the Bajaj way. That fuel tank reminds me of the Discover...I dont know why, is it because of the B&W pic. or my instincts.

From the pic, the proportions seem to be looking right unlike most of TVS's offerings. The price and the features look promising though.

It looks a lot like the Pulsar/Discover. I found the picture hilarious... especially how the Chairman "sits" on the bike. That type of "sitting" should be preferably done by a woman wearing a saree not by a man wearing pants launching a new sporty motorcycle.

Off current topic I was impressed and amazed by watching clips of the DCX COO Wolfgang Bernhard launching the Tomahawk concept (unfortunately only photos here) actually riding the bike and not merely sitting in a "pretty" way on it as is usually done for most launches.

Mr Venu Srinivasan was probably the only chairman of a two wheeler company who rode a bike to work.

If he does ride a bike to work then kudos to him. I didnt know that when I posted earlier but I still stubbornly say that the picture in the papers could have been taken with him properly seated ...

Sorry i missed it. mods can you please move this thread to the Motorbikes section?

Cherian i understand that the seating position in the photo isn't good but still i don't think many will find it hillariuos. I remember seeing a foto in autocar of Venu doing a wheelie in a centra or victor..that was a good one though..

And guyz, TVS has launched the new bike;says Fiero will continue to sell. So is this the supposed Fiero replacement launched in a new name?

Do you want to say that only supermodels and hunks must drive bikes????

I dont see anything wrong with the chairman endorsing the bike. IT shows that the bike is for all? especially if he is a resepcted guy like Venu Srinivasan. Look how he has managed TVS to be among the top companies even after Suzuki left.

Its not a copy of the pulsar or discover because the design was already created way back in 2001-2002. THis bike was at display at the auto-expo last time. maybe its similar but its fresh looking.

and no it will rock and not rattle. TVS is known to make good bikes.

Bajaj and TVS will soon be ready to take on the big boys I guess. India is on a roll.

I am now really proud to be an Indian.

Nothing wrong with him launching the bike. But the way he is sitting on that bike, he has covered almost half of it. And given that this is the only pic that has appeared and even their website is not updated, would have loved to see more of the bike...
