RDDreams has a dealer in Cochin named Team Carbon. Am not sure about their location or the contact numbers but have known them through a friend and they get the installation as well done. Since you are having RXG try to get the 100/90 lighting kit as well as part of the CDI kit which they sell and is lighter than the stock RXG magneto gives better lighting as well

@Zacs:- Your photography skill is appreciatable. Truly motocross?
Can you list what has gone inside this bike, i.e performance mods etc.

Love it Man, looks great. The Yamaha Stripes could have been a little larger like that on the RXZ. The magnesium colour looks cool.

The Suzuki seat is great, but the mud guard does not go with the flow.

Cheers,

The front mudgard does not suit the bike.

For me the color looks like Blue and it looks fine however rims can be painted with lemon yellow or some compatible color, IMO the tank sticker could have been little bigger (not to offend you) however the overall look of the bike is great. In the previous picture the bike looks great and I didn't feel the need for color I wish you should have retained the original tank and side cover (if it was in original paint) and could have brought OEM and got this thing done up. Bike looks great and all the best.

Re: My Yamaha RXG 135 - Facelift & Performance modifications

I love the color! But I think it needs a clearcoat. In the last pic I observed that the paint is direct/no clearcoat. This could lead to premature fading of paint.

have fun!

Re: My Yamaha RXG 135 - Facelift & Performance modifications

Thanks all for the feedback.

List of mod on the bike:

1. Custom paint job
2. Renthal Handle Bar
3. RDD CDI Unit
4. Iridium Spark plug (NGK)
5. Custom exhaust
6. Green cotton Air filter
7. RX100 back Sprocket
8. Fly mud guard in front and max100 set up in rear
9. Aluminium chain guard
10. Disk brake set up from pulsar
11. Performance reed valve
12. Samurai seats
13. Ceat GR/PP in front and MRZ ZAPPER in rear
14. CD100 head light
15. Half throttle

Waiting for a square swing arm and disk brake set up from RTR, Hella lights and some more performance mods.

It has a clear coat applied, May be coz of my bad photography skills or some lighting problem it appears like its naked.

Re: My Yamaha RXG 135 - Facelift & Performance modifications

Hi Zacs ,

Thankfully I found one thread which is 2011 oct for the RX series.

I have been reading your thread quite closely and it definitely is the closest to what I would want to do with an RXG .

So here are the questions -

1. Is anything between 6-9 k a good price for a 1996 RXG 135 ? condition would be bad cosmetics, no idea of the engine , but definitely will be in running condition.

2. The setup that you are running on your bike, is it off road worthy for doing something like this ?

3. How long did it take you for the entire build ?

4. And I would be really grateful if you could break down the costs of the components and the total cost incurred on the build . It will be very helpful for me and others like me reading through the forum.

All the best for your ride, looks beautiful .

1. 6-9k is a great price for a RXG. A mechanically sound RXG in my town goes for almost 20K.

2. The bike is worthy off roading if motocross tires are added.
3. 1 year for me as I was mostly out of station. Normally it will not take more than a month.
4. I will put in the break down cost soon.

Re: My Yamaha RXG 135 - Facelift & Performance modifications

Nice look !!

me likes:
Unique look, paint job (esp on the engine and head and forks and of-course the blue)
Good mods taken care of with the likes of rdd cdi and NGK sparks. The handlebars are fab and good overall look.

me dislikes:
Rear tyre (serious hampering to the overall performance of the bike on a broader tyre, try for other tyres which are thinner and also look great, for example Sirac from michelin)
Front mudguard (if the hero impulse's f-mudguard is available get that on it looks more better for the dirt spec u made).

Above comments purely my perception... no offence meant.. But i seriously loved your effort to make a unique bike hence suggested to make it look and ride better.

Cheers !!

Re: My Yamaha RXG 135 - Facelift & Performance modifications

The bike looks great. The color suits it. But I would agree to what some members said-the front bumper doesn't go well. Why not try the Hero impulse's bumper? Also how about changing the front lamp to a round one from the current rectangular one? just my opinion...

You forgot an important thing- Fork Braces upfront which will keep the front more stable and flex free!
