Thanks Anand for the information, I will certainly look for the keyhole on the passenger side. The video however helps to open a locked door. I will try to see if locking the front left door helps. I tried from the driver side but the left side door did not lock.

I survived with the unlocked door yesterday. Today I took the car to service center. It was discovered that the locking system was jammed and will be replaced in warranty. Unfortunately the part is not available so they have ordered it. For the moment they have disabled the electronic system and the left side door can be opened only from inside. So for the moment I am relieved.

To your point on opening the door panel, it is a specialised process to open the plastic inside panel. It is hinged to 5 screws. All of them get unscrewed with different types of screw drivers which seemed to be proprietary to VW. It took 15-20 mins to open the panel for a seasoned mechanic. VW probably does not want anyone else to touch the car.

Anyway, I hope to get the problem solved by end of this week. Will update on any new development.

Are you serious. If i remember right there is one screw that basically holds the door while the rest are all just brilliantly places clips. Not just the door. Most of the parts around your car are easy to remove and easy to put it back. Try removing the complete trunk liner. It will take 10 minutes in total and putting it back is more like solving a level 1 lego.

I have removed the door panels and i think its just a one screw near the door handle.

Yes, I had to open my Laura's front left door trim (inner panel). Just a couple of regular screws and rest are clips.

BTW, for any car with keyless entry, owner manual *MUST* have a mention of emergency locking and unlocking procedure (the hidden key, hidden keyhole, etc). What if battery dies or central locking malfunctions while you are in the middle of nowhere like Ladakh?

Locking issue looks like a flaw. Happened to two of my doora

Used the wipers for the first time today, i mean to say for a very long duration, the wipers seem to be shuddering a lot. :Frustrati Specially the driver side wiper. The Rain Sensor is set onto level two, has anyone faced the same issue? The wipers cannot be faulty as the car is just three months old. The windsheild has a sealant on it, so i doubt if it can be because of any contaminants. Can this be because of the dust ? I seriously doubt it as the rain would easily wash away the dust or any other particles that might have been deposited on the wind shield. Also wiper marks are being left by the passenger side wiper blade. I remember the wipers operation being butter smooth and absolutely silent. Can someone suggest a DIY to the situation or can this be corrected only at the workshop? I request you to let me know your thoughts.

This is my understanding and i can be wrong. The shudder can be because the blades are too thin and the glass has some silica based coating that it does not have the pressure to glide over the coating.

Secondly the blades are too hard by the heat and it is unable to create that friction free motion over the glass it shudders.

Either way you have to see if there are dust particles that can cause some rub marks on the glass else continue to use the wiper till the coat wears out and the blades can actually slide.

You may have to get a harder wiper if the shuddering is because of the coating.

Try some brake oil or even some basic wax to on the glass following by water and wiper action.

I was convinced that the sound and shudder was because of the coating, but when i started to Google the similar issue was being discussed on a few forums discussing this issue. My only concern is that the wind shield might get rasped. :confused:

Even on the dry glass when I accidentally start the wipers ( while getting used to the opposite direction of the indicator stalk) absolutely no sound. Even the dust particles were wiped off in utter silence. I was all smiles for such buttery operation. Never faced this issue on the XUV or Santro and both of these cars never had any sort of protection on them. Just getting bugged to drive with that shuddering noise.

I have also faced this issue. I have sonex wind shield cleaner mixed to the water tank. I use the spray simultaneously, when ever I turn-on the wiper initially. This solves the problem.

The issue is this wiper frame is too delicate and does not latch on to the wind-shield. Polo had a plastic frame which would use wind force to apply pressure on the wiper blades.

The wind shield will not get impacted. On prolonged usage the coating wears off and the wiper will continue to work.

Try this, take news paper, apply some oil and rub with the news paper. Sometimes coconut oil works like a charm. Use the oil as a rubbing agent and not as lubricant. The news paper is soft enough yet rough enough to clean the glass and remove some of the thick coating you may have.

Worst case you can simply use soap solution and remove the oil coat as well.

I will try doing the same, will mix some wind shield washer solution in the provided tank and see if it works. If that doesn't then i may consider changing to Hella blades (dynaedge) as cleaning the windshield every time would a bother.

Have received a insurance renewal quote of Rs 25700 from Bajaj Allianz + 15300 for zero dep total approx 41K (this is the 1st renewal) have a Jetta CL - does it figure sound OK ?

Have also come to know that 2yr EW is now 61K

Looks a bit more. Try other Companies like United India.... But go with zero%. :)

Sounds about right. But push for discounts. With BA i was able to push for zero Dep for 4 years. I paid a little more but i am sure i did the right thing.

Even for the fifth year i am going to ask them courtesy coverage of Zero Dep where i am ready to pay the extra.

Stick with BA. The difference you lose is not much. And you can work on zero claims as a reason to extend your Zero dep for over 3 years.

Still thinking whether it's worth 61K for the 2 year EW. Where does one get parts from outside the dealer network and capable garages ?

When i got my car i got free 2 year EW. 61K go and purchase the extended warranty please. Dont hesitate.

When the fly wheel goes kaput you will bleed with blood and when those suspension goes kaput you will continue the bleeding.

4 ABS sensors will cost you 75% of that 60k you are spending. Its a german car. The excess to buy warranty is totally worth it.
