From my interpretation of the manual, try the below for getting into "ACC" mode on W10.

With out clutch press
- Press the start/stop button for more than 2 seconds
OR
- Rapidly press and release the engine start/stop button 3 times within 3 seconds

Not sure if this is accurate, but no harm in trying.

Tried that too. But to no avail. This isn't a niggle I believe but the feature variance may be. RSA was not available today to reach out to confirm this formally :Frustrati

Yes it did not work for me too, I cannot find the contact information of the relationship manager given to me at the time of delivery and folks at the service center don't seem to have a clue about what am i trying to say. I too feel it isn't a niggle. :deadhorse

I am facing my first niggle, there is a clicking sound that come from the under the steering or the dashboard. The showroom guys dont know what it is. They came twice to check but when they where around the car did not make that noise. Also the sound does not come at any specific moment. Any one else experienced this?

So here is the verdict. I gotten in touch with most knowledgeable RSA at Sireesh whom i believe to be truthful and helpful. He says - the one hour mode thing is only with Models that done have the start/stop button. The button when pressed connects to battery and gets into ON mode. This is equivalent to ACC mode on XUV with a traditional key. The Traditional key'ed ON mode on XUV is same as start/ stop button press ON mode.

That's weird given other cars with similar start/stop button provide this feature. What was Mahindra engineers thinking if they did this by design ?

Still wondering if the RSA is wrong as the manual keeps referring to the "ACC" state within the section "7.5.1 Engine START/STOP Button" at least 5-6 times.

Yep. But thats what is implementation! May change in future. Another facelift may be :uncontrol

The user manuals have a lot of if and buts too. Most of the places it can have those * - exceptions - if equipped language too. I have read through the manual, it's same for all models W6/8/10 and hence you can't really pin point this as issue if RSA is wrong. He may be right. At least with my experience with him, he has been pretty accurate for all things earlier. So I would give him the benefit of this trust and take that as answer.

Put this discussion to rest now until a DIY or hack or upgrade solves this issue. stupid:

Guys, Pressing the button on the door wont lock the car anymore. The car just beeps three times and it remains unlocked. Though unlocking the car is working fine. I checked all the doors and everything is shut properly. Cant lock the car by pressing the button on the door, Any idea?

This is shocking new! Reading through the user manual - here is the info:

The steering is not getting locked. Hence the three chimes. Look for the root cause of that thing if you can.

Both the doors, Now i have to remove the key everytime to lock the vehicle, Its irritating now specially because i never used the key since day one and it soon became an habit.

Edit : Just saw the pic, Thanks! And ill try and rotate the steering wheel a couple of times and check what happens. I usually park the car with wheels facing towards the left since thats how the parking place is.

Most likely the "electronic steering lock" is malfunctioning.

Thankfully that isn't the case, The front bonnet sensor has gone kaput, Weirdly the infotainment system did not throwup an error past 2 days, It was just now when it finally prompted me about the bonnet being open, Even though its shut properly. Just like my previous Xuv, Bonnet sensor was changed around 7 times i guess.

The bonnet open is 5 chimes sound. If you are getting three, as per the manual, it must be steering lock. Please check with RSA - take to garage if it's on your way.

Grrr.. My bad. I have been using this term - RSA instead of SA/ Technician. The correct word is SA - Service Advisor. Thanks SDP for pointing that out.

Please read SA instead of RSA in all my earlier posts.

sorry:

Hello, It was actually because of the bonnet open only, I shut the bonnet really hard and tried locking the car from the request sensor and wola, It worked! But yes thats weird since i could hear only 3 chimes.
