Yes buddy. Both the dealers in Mangalore were not ready to accept booking for lower variants of 1.6.

Also, Maruti is going to discontinue 1.6 once they plonk all the imported engines.

Maruti had no serious plans to sell 1.6. When service personnel went for training, Maruti gave importance only on 1.3 and step motherly treatment to 1.6. Service guys who had been to training at factory told me about this.

Maruti S-cross all-wheel drive being tested in India , the carmaker intends to race the S-cross and thus add to its brand image and leverage some of this in the sale of the model

The S-cross AllGrip was first spotted last year at the Raid de Himalaya and quite recently at the Desert Storm.

We do know that Maruti doesn’t intend to launch an all-wheel-drive variant, which is sold in the European market, in India, but it is testing the S-cross AllGrip (AWD) here.

Remember guys, most of us early birds have received vouchers to be redeemed as AMC/Ex Warranty month back. Today when I logged into my nexa account, I could see the AMC package has been linked to my car. Others can confirm too.

But, what's not clear is the frequency, inclusions/exclusions etc. As per the entry it says, it's a premium package and valid till 60k kms or 29-may-19 whichever is earlier. Anybody has any knowledge regarding this?

I don't think Maruti is testing AWD S-Cross. They are just using it for rally events IMHO.

Before anything else they must bring those stunning Alloys here and atleast offer them as an option :D

Quite likely. Still sound logic; race on sunday, sell on monday. The S-Cross is a seriously under rated car. May sell okay numbers but it deserves to do much MUCH better and anything to boost its profile and relevance is much appreciated.

Yesterday had wonderful one day trip of about 450 km to my native. Left early in the morning around 5 am and returned at night around 10.car behaviour is awesome on highways.my native is on mumbai goa highway so constant gear shifting and overtaking. SCROSS Delivered fuel economy of 19 with Ac On all the time and 2 hours of Mumbai traffic.no tiredness at all even after driving 450km with constant overtaking.loving the comfort SCross offers. Attaching few pictures.Forgive me for lots of pictures :)

Give them at least as an option, NEXA!!

Thank you. Will have to wait a day or two, since I take delivery of a Zeta 1.3 then. May I ask you--and other Gurgaon/Delhi BHPians--where you can find decent car seat covers from? My dealer doesn't seem to have many options for my brownie.

Additionally, would BHPians recommend going for 3M paint-sealant protection and under-body work? Any other must-haves for a new car--want to get this right.

Congrats !

S-cross does not need under-body coating. Many members who had visited 3M, were told by 3M guys themselves that S-Cross does not need it.

You can go for 3M paint sealant and possibly window films, mats, seat covers and other stuff.

You can check out accessory shops in Janakpuri. A friend got seats covers done for his Swift, two years back, for around 5k IIRC. Good thing is that they can personalise the design, colour and stitching as per your preference. Bad thing is that they don't stock known/expensive brands and you may (or may not) find the quality adequate, even of the highest priced products of their shop.

Else drive down to Faridabad and check out Decora. Very slight increase in prices but tons of options. Workmanship and personalisation are a botch below due to the rush though.

Here's a link for the first option (shop) -

Yes, I would recommend Paint sealant and Underbody coating, provided that the car is brand new. OTOH, I would avoid Engine coating and such stuff. :)

I received a letter from Nexa today, offering 2Yr/20K KM premium maintenance cost package (MCP) / extended warranty (EW)

Anyone knows how this work?. I had already taken extended warranty when I bought the car.

Also, the MCP / EW voucher I received says, it's valid till 31 July 2016 (2 more months). What does that mean?

sou_3749,
I checked my nexa account today, the AMC package has not been updated yet in the MCP page. May it take some more time to reflect. My car is 1.3 Zeta - Aug 2015

I got the letter long back but it is not reflecting in my account yet. Did you do something to activate it or it started appearing on its own?

The only thing I have done was handed over the voucher to my RM at nexa and got it acknowledged/stamped. But, that was probably 2 months back. Not sure if the nexa showroom guys have enrolled it. The confusion is the voucher says 20k kms where as nexa account says 60k. Anyways I would be happy with the later(if true).

Volkman
Autocar's claim of S-cross allgrip seems to be doubtful.

Reasons :
1. Why would maruti upsize to 17" for rally purpose?
2. To my knowledge, there is only one S-cross all grip in the country and that is black in color : Imported by Maruti for R&D and now running around in rallies.

Maruti May 2016 sales numbers
http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/bus...8_6790401.html

The utility vehicles sales is 13596, which is almost 2500 units less than the April 2016 (~16K) figures. Who will be the culprit?

April 2016 sales were as below.
Ertiga - 5484
Gypsy - 221
S-Cross - 2507
Brezza - 7832
