I have a Figo, Scross and terrano at home. The Scross auto AC is better than the other 2 and none of these cars have rear vents. The auto AC kind of helps in ensuring a consistent temperature through out. Scross is also the newest of the lot. So maybe that helps create this perception..
Having said that i live in kerala and the summers are not that harsh here. Maybe you could try and get black window shades which are removable. I see a lot of cars use that these days.

There are work arounds to the heat:
1) Sun Shades so the heat doesn't burn when on the move
2) Park in shade / get the reflective screen put on windshield while parked
3) Sunfilms - not recommended as they're illegal, the cops don't raise a hue and cry if you get transparent heat reduction films put. Transparency is key!
4) Crack the windows a little if you're parked in a safe locality with no dust/insects. If not, open the windows of the car a little before sitting in the seat
5) fabric cover for the seats - they do not absorb as much heat as leather.
Basically its a glaring ommision, and Maruti calls it their most premium offering. Lol.

You can consider sun film for front at least. This glass in the Ritz is large and not vertical like the windows and rear windshield. This will help you to some extent by reducing in-coming heat.

Given the car for 50K service.(DDis 200) Engine oil / filter are the only recommended replacement @50K. Estimated cost is 6300.

What's the max mileage (kms) we have on the forum on a 1.6? Or something you have first hand info on? Just want to see the long term reliability of the 1.6L engine.

My friend has crossed 85k km in his 1.6 :).
1. No issues till date.
2. The car is also running with Wolf remap.
3. He has used only Mobil 1 0W40 synthetic oil since 10k km service.

Some of the major issues I know of :
1. Leak from high pressure fuel pump. I personally know 2 cars and the pump was replaced under warranty.
2. Recently an owner reported coolant leak. It was due to faulty thermostat. This issue is very common in S-Cross 1.3, but was the first case in 1.6.
3. Another case was very scary. The left side engine mount broke and the engine went down during driving :Shockked:.
The left side drive shaft also got damaged. Maruti replaced all the above parts under warranty.
Most of the cars are running without any major issues. Overall reliability is good, but there are some cases where parts have failed. Also the 1.6 is very sensitive to fuel quality.
75,000 kms completed. Got a overall FE of 25 kmpl as per the MID on a recent 880 kms trip.
Another 5k kms to go and then my car will be out of warranty. :D

My friend's Dad's 1.6 had a similar issue. Engine bolt sheared of and consequently pulled out the drive shaft. Happened on a long trip but towards the very end of the journey (10 km from destination). Whole thing repaired/replaced under warranty.
That makes it two cases already. Scary indeed.

Is the issue rectified and what exactly was done? My 1.3 Zeta (Nov 2016, 27000 Kms) is having similar issue. The gear shifts have not been smooth since 2 months. Last week I have done a 125 km trip to my home and on the next day when I took the car, the gear was not coming back from the 1st gear. I stopped the car (didn't kill the engine) and tried and it was shifting but not smooth. I continued journey but the 2nd and 3rd were not easy while going up or down.
Faced similar issue this week also. I think the issue comes when the weather is cold. I face issues when there is heavy rain in Thrissur (the place where I stay) or when I am at Thodupuzha (my hometown - when it was cold weather at night).
My SA asked whether I have driven in rains, I have done but not through water puddles. He said he will have to do clutch bleeding and for that I have to leave the car at service station for 2 days.
In my Ritz I started seeing the gear shift issue after 50000 KM's. The service centre does some lubrication and solved it for few hundred KM's. For me, 2nd to 1st is notchy and the reverse doesn't engage easily at times.
Check the gear synchros.
