Took the car to Nexa service for the standard 60k service. The car got its EGR cleaned. It was actually removed and then given a diesel wash. :) Attached are the pictures below. PMS (Paid Service) cost for 60k actually includes the EGR cleaning costs it seems. A few additional parts like the gaskets/clips and some hoses were replaced

The battery was checked and it has deteriorated. I have also attached the report for the battery here. They confirmed crank times were longer and soon the car may see issues were the car may refuse to start.

They gave a link to check the parts online, that was new to me. I took a screenshot from the nexa website. you may click on that for a larger picture. The entire cost of the service was 8416.

The tires are also nearing the tread wear indicator and finally a pic of the car after the service.

If battery is weak, replace immediately. It may not give any other indication other than a little increased cranking time. Will stop and refuse to start all of a sudden. Do not take chances.

It happened to me last week and I was lucky that it happened in office parking area.

If it would have been on a busy road / traffic signal, it will take out our good life out of us.

Dear bhpians, I took test drive of s cross at two different dealerships, a few days back, at one dealership they gave me a brand new, zeta model, with just 80 or 90km on odo, while at the other it was a proper test drive car, alpha model, with around 16000km on odo. I was able to find a lot of difference in both these. The one with 16000km felt a lot quicker than the brand new one. I know that the engine opens up as it munches miles, but the difference was quite a lot. I presently own an ecosport, and have owned the national engine(1.3 multijet), in Swift and Dzire for around 8 years, but never felt this much difference after run in period. What do you owners say?
I want to change from Ecosport to S cross, as I find S cross to be more rev happy, and also it is more silent at 100-120kmph than Ecosport. Ecosport gives a resonating humm at 100-110 kmph, which is my usual cruising speed, and I find it irritating on the highways, and it is present in all ecosports, not only in mine. I also find the ride of s cross much more comfortable than Ecosport. What do you experts say, I am ok with the turbo lag, hope I won't regret changing from Ecosport to S cross. Please give your opinion. Thanks.

Got a new amaron battery for the s cross today. Cranking is definitely a little faster than usual. The battery is 50 din battery and was manufactured in 08 2018. So pretty new.


Also, to the poster above, was the test drive car with 16k on odo an old version without svhs? If so you are correct. With svhs, maruti has tuned the car to extract the last drop of fuel in the name of mileage. The car can be slow. Look at the timings between a regular ciaz and an svhs ciaz.

It was the newer shvs version in both the cases. The only difference was the odometer reading.

150 Rs labour for changing a key fob battery:deadhorse. I got the battery changed for both of my key fobs for 200 bucks at MASS, 100 bucks a pop.

It's a pretty easy DIY. I changed the Creta key fob battery sometime back which is quite similar to S Cross key.

You should have noticed a longer than before crank time. But 2 year time for replacement seem abnormally low.



At 3 years + 10 days of Ownership and at ~ 36 k Kms, taken the S Cross for Service.

As the car was taking a bit longer to crank was geared up for a battery change and re-starting the vehicle at the service centre it did reuse to start initially , but did so after some time.

Anyways got the Amaron battery at ~₹ 6.3K and now all seem to work as before.

Nope, it did not give me any indication at all, which is what I found so strange. Previous night, all well and the next day, early morning, it simply refused to start. The battery guy did say that the cranking voltage is going below 10V. Yes, it is low for a battery to last just 2 years, that too on a stock car :Frustrati.

Hopefully, this Amaron stays for a longer time :)

Only indication is a little extra cranking time and it will not very clearly noticeable as we get used to the behaviour at start.

If someone goes and starts a new car with new battery, the quickness in starting will be much more evident.

I paid around 5.2k and they took the old battery with them. I went to the amaron website and found the pitstop nearest to my house, about 3kms away. I wanted a DIN65 battery, but the battery plate in our car cannot handle DIN65, so I had to go with a DIN50 battery.

It comes with a 2-year replacement guarantee and the next 2 years on a pro-rata basis.

Seems like my battery is about to die, had to charge it once with help of my friend. Will go for Amaron. Anyone knows reliable dealers for Amaron in Cochin.?
