I registered for a TD today on the website and promptly (almost instantaneously after clicking the submit button) I got a call from Hexa. They said they understand that the price will be in the range of 12-18 lacs. This is the ball park number they gave. no other details.

As confirmed by Raven Avi Sunroof is available as an optional accessory in Hexa too(Page15). Better to wait for some more time before finalizing between the two. :thumbs up

Went through the features in detail but could not find any mention of a sunroof! The same was confirmed in many reviews too. It would be great if there was a sunroof!

Thanks for the info @Ravenavi.
I had a word with them, XTA is the one they have available with them for TD purpose. Dealer's attitude is still a hit or miss any ways, I am yet to receive a call back or message from the sales guy I had a word with. He was supposed to call or message me so that I may get his number.

I have concrete info that they have received TD cars too.
Possibly some birdie may have seen the Hexa(s) parked at the Concorde Mathura road; they must be media cars (Their sales person told me the same) as mostly the media cars of Tata are with this specific Concorde only.

More than the company or the product's final pricing, it is the dealers' attitude which might end up killing all the hype/enthusiasm for such a wonderful offering - dare I say the best Tata till date!
This is where the actual difference lies. Success and huge footfalls normally run into the head of the dealers of low selling brands (even Ford dealers also turned arrogant by short lives success of Figo and Aspire), maybe after Tiago and now Hexa garnering attention, has made their dealers turn arrogant again.

Well that is definitely a loss for Tata. Shows the lack of interest from the dealers. Why 1.6 S Cross? Logically you should be moving to XUV

Honestly I do not need a 7 seater but I was initially completely impressed with Hexa so much that is why I decided to go with it. If I compare XUV to Scross for my needs I would love to go with Scross 1.6 anyday. Why? 320 Nm on a 1200kg odd body :)

On a different note, you mention you have waited a whole year or more. Why not wait a few more days? As the saying goes, "It's darkest before the dawn."

Agree with you but I am afraid of the after sales service now. As Ravenavi pointed out I can go and test drive in Delhi. Will do so.

I'm very surprised at the marketing strategy adopted by Tata for this wonderful product.
You have announced that bookings are open.
You have sent out test drive cars.
You have collected so many inquiries and test drive requests.
And you still give no indication of the price to your dealership?

The 1st 2Ps of marketing, product and promotion is bang on but if the 3rd P ie Price is unknown to the consumer I doubt a purchase decision can happen and profitability for the company increase. Tata (TAS) was a major recruiter at my B school. Even Girish Wagh is an alumni, I wonder what strategy is this now :D

Thanks as always. Will goto one of these this Sunday if my schedule permits.

Meanwhile, caught testing on the outskirts of Pune earlier today:

It could be either the XMA variant going through some last-minute tests, or the XM 4x4 variant.

Is it possible that it could be a TD vehicle with customers checking it out?
Cause here in Bangalore, the staff had promised a highway drive on weekdays when customers were less. And i do see them driving around almost daily in areas surrounding the showroom or the nearby main roads.
Would it not be a bit late even for "last minute" tests? Just wondering!

Cant be since its Pune. The dealerships are yet to get the TD cars which as per the call received yesterday "will be soon". So definitely not a customer TD

I think Sridha Motors in Chakan already have Display/TD cars. Not 100% sure though, but most likely yes they have TD cars.

Great!! You must put up the first user review for the Hexa.

This is a good move from TaMo; to try and initiate good word of mouth propaganda campaign. Looks like they are really intent on success this time.

Wow. Now that's some confidence that the company is showing. This is good. Tata seem to have tremendous confidence in their product and that is really good for the consumer. Do post in extreme detail on how your experience goes with the XTA.

Got a Call from Concorde motors baner, pune mentioning that the HEXA will be available for Display tomorrow.(yes, just for display)
I assume it will be the XT (manual) variant.
Requested more details regarding the TD availability and was informed that it will start soon.

Concorde prabhadevi has a hexa in the basement. The SA after a lot of pressing, took us there. He requested us not to tell anyone else as"the management had not yet given the clearance." This was in the third week of November. We were bowled over. :OTHaving seen both the crysta and the hexa, personally I preferred the interiors of the hexa.

Team,

Here's the official comparison analysis made by Tata, comparing the upcoming Hexa SUV with it's immediate competition - the Toyota Innova Crysta and the Mahindra XUV500.
