Question 1 - Has any one faced this issue on your Jeep ? How about any other brand vehicles you own ? I have a 2012 Swift which still have them in tact after driving over 120K.

I lost one hub cap within a month of getting my vehicle and that too only driving on Bangalore roads. I asked the service advisor if this usually happens, he said no, someone would have intentionally taken it out and he showed me scratch marks where the hub cap was. Since it was a single cap, paid the 5000 odd to get a new one. Never lost a hub cap on my previous vehicles.

Hi All,
I got a wheel alignment and tyre rotation done at Madhus and was told by the technician that the TPMS would need to be adjusted by Jeep service personnel. Does anyone have any experience with this? He has given me the before and after images of wheel rotation.
Regards.

I had to get 2 wheel caps replaced in 2019 for my Petrol AT - no idea how they went, but I think someone stole them in a public parking lot.

At that time I had to pay only about 1K for each wheel cap (which is still quite ridiculous).

Folks, I finally got my Jeep Compass from Legends Jeep Lucknow. Drove it same day to NCR and it was a pleasant experience so far :Cheering: Loving it.

So my car has run 42k km and I called up Jeep ASC to get the quote for service. Seems they said I need to do the major service for 78k KM and would cost total of nearly Rs.70k (Rs.25k for normal service to change oil, oil filter, fuel filter and such. And Rs.38k for timing belt and alternator belt). Just surprised of this increase in normal service, I recall it used to be around Rs.15k or so. Is this the same for others here? Mine is the petrol automatic.

Ask for a detailed estimate with all the action item in it. Normally the standard service comes around 17K.

Timing belt replacement is at 5 years/75K or 90K Kms.

Thanks. Wondering if the timing belt need to be done as per year (I’m in my 7th year ownership) and they asked to change it as per 5 years. Or as per km which is 75k but I ran just 42k so far.

It is not worth taking a risk with timing belt replacement. If it snaps while driving, then you will be facing a bigger expense. There are many such threads on this here. So, better to get it replaced.

Was yours a diesel or a petrol Compass? It will help other owners if members on this thread specify the same.

If your timing belt is already 7 years old then you should get it changed ASAP.

I've experienced a cam belt failure which ended up ruining the engine. It was a cheap used car that I'd bought, and it was not worth getting the repair done.

Hello Everyone,

What are the approximate servicing costs of Compass diesel AT at 1yr, 2 yr and 3 yr? Do you recommend buying the 3 yr maintenance care plan?

Thanks in advance!

I sent my car for 3 year/45k service couple of days back. The car has done exactly this much in age and mileage. Service center sent me this video stating a failed seal related to gear box and offered to replace it under the warranty which is expiring in next 7 days. There was no issue that I could observe in driving experience due to this.Nor did I see any oil marks at the parking area. Earlier I had planned to sent the car for servicing next month. A good call to get it done this month itself I guess!

Is yours petrol or diesel? In my (2022 Petrol S Auto) car's 30k km service, they told me that my MCM (I believe that's their term for the DCT) was leaking and got the whole thing replaced under warranty as well. I did complain about my car being a little sluggish and the gearbox a little less smooth while handing it in for service, but it wasn't anything major!

Makes me glad I bought the extended warranty. I'm even willing to extend it to more than 5 years if they let me.

EPB gets engaged automatically while waiting for long in traffic

Problem Statement: When I am in a red light and car has come to a full stop, seat belts secured, door locked and car in D mode with auto hold, if the wait is longer than say 2 minutes, the EPB gets engaged automatically! The engine also seems to also switch OFF and then it needs some time before the car can be started. Needless to say, this invites a lot of curses from fellow drivers and sweating by yours truly! The car is an automatic top end Diesel 4 by 2 and barely 3 months old, 2000 kms.

Potential Solution: When I checked with my Sales contact, he said if it is a long wait, it is best to put it in N mode, but then it seems the auto hold does not work?

Please advise if you have seen this sort of issue and any solutions?
