You can unlock the boot with the Key or from the inside. To open it, you have to lift the boot door manually, just like most of the cars/hatchbacks.

And yes, you need to press the request sensor on the boot door once.

Try this. I saw them using it on Wheeler Dealers.

Alloy Wheel Edge Ring Rim Protectors Tyres Tire Guard Rubber on Amazon India.

Online research says that those alloys are available in 6J and 7J width, in either case the stock tire width of 195mm should be fine.

I think you may have just kerbed the wheel. Just be careful when you park next to a sidewalk with a sharp edge. This also usually happens, when you try to park in a very tight space, and there is a step in the way and when the alloy wheel touches the step.

This is exactly what happens, when the person who was fitting the tyres on the alloy wheels handles the wheels roughly. I had the similar damage on my wheels when I changed my tyres at 40K kms.

To avoid such damage, you have to basically watch the person and ask him, not to use those machines which remove and fit tyres automatically and also not to stand on the wheels.

Ahem !! I know how to open the boot with the help of the button inside, on the console.

I just want to know if we can use the smart key, as nothing happens when I press the same from outside. I see a red indicator in the fob, but the boot doesn't open.

Hit mark on the tire as well, I don't think this is mis-handled at the tire store

1) Yes, but go for upsize only when you feel the need on performance or comfort not to escape from these scratches
2) Take care when you park / kerbs / stones when the tires are off the road

Tried long press? Around 3 seconds IIRC

May be you should watch this video. Ignore the accent and the language, but the kid knows stuff.

Thanks guys. This happened when I scratched the full left wheel into a footpath to avoid an oncoming car. Is it normal for a 5 mm protrusion of alloy rim corners in all vehicles?

I am still evaluating options for an upsize. The top trim of nexon comes with 215, 60, r 16 tires. Wondering if that will fill the alloy corners fine.

5mm protrusion from the tire bedding is normal ans that's the thickness of material which couldn't be avoided, if it is protruding beyond the overall wire width (or the side walls) it's abnormal.

First is "OK" condition, second is little dangerous.

I actually dont know how many mm it is exactly but what I can measure is it is 1/4th of an inch( maybe 10 mm ) protrusion outside and 5 mm protrusion outside the overall tire wall. Enclosed some photos. Is this safe to drive around with? If not, will a tire up size to 215 solve this issue? :deadhorse

Safe, if you get used to the vehicle dimension (especially the tire position)

Yes

PS: what's your rim width, 7J?

I am not sure about the rim width, where do i find this? Also, i took the exact measurement of the protrusion. It comes to 0.25 inches, 6.35mm. :-)

Is this considered normal for after market alloy fitments?stupid:

@ Mods - Thank you for moving my post to this thread. I was a little hesitant to post here directly as it was slightly off topic( rims and tires )
:thumbs up

Mostly embossed on the inner face of the alloy

Similar thickness is common in OE alloys as well, but the tire protrudes beyond the wheel face.

Ok, so Tata Motors called my car in for an up-gradation. This is absolutely free and not sure if it's only for XZ+ owners. A silicon pad was placed inside the headlamp unit to damp the vibes and the backside of the remote was changed to something that keeps the battery pressed in its place (pic below are the new unit (L) Vs the old (R)). Call for yours now!

Got a call from Tata Motors for a "headlight change". No word about the key yet. The battery in my remote key has run out twice in 3 months. Perhaps the little press fit will solve it.
