Manuuj, first of all congratulation on buying new Ford Endeavour.
I have been reading your post but posting after really long time.
Your Fortuner inspired me to buy one in 2013 but I sold it off early in search of automatic.
Coming to gearshift in Endeavour, I faced the same problem initially but did following.

1. Do not press hard below 1200-1500 rpm otherwise gear will hold on for some more time.
2. How you drive in first 15 minutes /5-10 km allows the gearbox to learn your pattern. If you go smooth so will the car start expecting. I have seen this. Read more on internet or below link. Adaptive learning kicks in everytime you start the engine after a long gap. Not sure about the duration.

3. New Ford does not mean that your PCM/TCM is updated. PCM update is quite frequent from Ford. Please get it done in your presence. This helps but not to great extent.

So, it has happened.

Ford isn't quitting according to article, right? It just says they are forming a joint venture which will focus on some vehicles.
Or am I missing something?

I was scouting for Endeavour 2.2L and came across a 2018 make which is stuck with a dealer. Its a brand new (not demo) vehicle and they are offering about 3L+ discount on it. Key features that will be missing would be

Hands free tailgate opening
Keyless entry
Parallel Parking
Electrical folding of 3rd row seats
Electric adjustment for passenger seat

Are these cosmetic features worth 3L + ?

Is it Titanium? How much is ex-showroom now and at that time? Do compare with 3,2 prices. I think total difference on a new 3,2 and 2,2 is not much

Its Titanium Automatic with panoramic sunroof. The current one is called Titanium + and they have added the earlier mentioned features in 2019. Current ex showroom price is 3133000 and not sure what was the price in 2018

I drove both 3.2 and 2.2 and felt 2.2 is sufficient for my kind of driving. In addition, 3.2 felt bit noisy compared to 2.2

Understood, ask them to share price of 2018, they can obviously not charge you MRP for a different model and take it from there. But if they don't budge, better stick to the current model. If I am not mistaken, current discounts are around 1-1,25 lac mostly from the dealer margin.

The brochure says Semi Auto Parallel or Perpendicular Park Assist.

Does any one has any experience or feedback with Perpendicular Park Assist ??

I have used it many times on my 3.2 Titanium. It requires patience and practise. Also in a crowded street you may not be able to do it because of time.

Semi-auto means you have to control the brake. The steering moves in auto. There are times when the car moves quite fast on a sharp turn. You may have to control by light breaking. Practise is required.

Here is one of the many videos on YouTube which you can refer.

Thank you my friend. :thumbs up
But I was more curious about "Perpendicular Park Assist" and not the "Parallel Park Assist".
The Brochure says Perpendicular Park Assist is supported as well.

It seems you need to press the park assist button 2 times to enable the Perpendicular Park Assist mode, please try it.

No Endeavour only support parallel parking which is more difficult than perpendicular parking. You can easily judge space for perpendicular parking but it is not that easy otherwise.

I have seen many people struggling with parallel parking. BTW I am using this daily as my parking slot in apartment supports parallel park.

As far as I know there is only parallel park assist in Ford Endeavour. If this is a new feature in the 2019 model then you can confirm from the showroom from where you purchased your SUV. They usually have a dedicated person for all features. Further still, you can drop a mail to Ford India.
On the other hand, it could be that this feature is present in the foreign models and not provided in the Indian ones. The Endeavour manual has many such inclusions which are actually not present in the Indian models. All this was done for cost cutting to make the price more competitive against its arch rival -The Fortuner.

With ford and Mahindra going into JV mode, do we have the danger of ford going the GM way? Will we see ford vehicles gradually disappear from the Indian market? In summary, would it be worth while to consider buying and Endy now?
