As I am about to start my 10th month of waiting, I was thinking, has anyone got the delivery of Diesel AT HT recently? My ASM, when we last spoke, had mentioned that the Diesel ATs are getting delayed for some reason.
As on date, both my SA and ASM have vanished. I am assuming they have no clue about my Thar or expected delivery date. Last known CPD was July 30.

Do follow up by going to the Dealership and do ask about Cancellation of other bookings cause some might have changed it to XUV700
I had a messy experience booking my Thar at around 1st week of July. After that, The Dealership made a 2nd booking (which is now in the System) on 30th of July.
All of a sudden, I got a call from the Dealership 4 days ago regarding availability of my variant (Diesel LX AT HT) and given a choice to take delivery.
My bad, I could not avail the offer cause I made some other investment cause the initial waiting period informed to me was around 7 months here. So, I am back to waiting.
Hope I don't end up regretting missing this chance.
So, I think there are a few variables here like Factory dispatch, AT variants depend in the demand in a particular place, Booking Cancellations etc.

The TPMS - what happens when you rotate your tyres to different positions from where they now are? How would you instruct your TPMS that the positions of the sensors have changed, say, from the rear Right to the front Right for example?
Are there instructions in the user manual on how this is to be done? Would someone kindly check this and let us know?
Thanks and cheers |

It's essentially the same as XUV5OO - there is a learning process that needs to be done. My service center thought it was auto learning, but I've realised it is not rl:
So a small update.
1. Seat Movement- Seems there is a play in the rails of the front driver seat. This is to be covered under warranty.
2. Small leakage from the HT above the driver side sun visor.
3. Very small cracks in the front windscreen. Only visible when a light source is shown from the outside. Seem as if these are stress cracks.
Taking the vehicle to the Dealer this week in all probability and having these addressed. Will keep everyone updated.

Thanks for the update. Does this imply that it is a one-off issue and not present in every Thar?

I have seen this exact same problem in a friend's Petrol manual, it even makes a rattling noise.
2 Bolts on my Thar's passenger seats came loose and seat started rattling within 2 days of delivery.
Doesn't seem like a common problem as a few known people have Thars in dehradun and none of them have had this issue.
Also my Thar has all bolts properly tightened and nothing is loose. The problem is with the rails.

Mahindra and its QC :Frustrati
While a Thar buyer will take these kind of issues in his/her stride as a "jeep thing", XUV7OO buyers will be much less forgiving here. Hope this is sorted out in subsequent production batches.
@navpreet - please keep us posted on this front.

With Diesel Automatic, the MID fuel economy shown is around 2kpl more than actual, this difference was consistent in all 3 top ups I have done with tankful to tankful method. |
Just got back from about 600km trip to a farm in a forest, consistently cruising at or below 80kmph returned AFE of 14.6kmpl. Mine is Diesel AT HT.
Made close to 900km in a couple of days of driving after the delivery, I should say I’m pretty impressed.
I drove a lifted Wrangler TJ Rubicon MT HT/ST with BFG ATs in US for over a dozen years when I lived there, compared to that THAR feels so much more like a car 😊
My first trip in the Wrangler of few thousand miles and a long weekend of camping with my wife, made her tell me after we returned “please don’t ever ask me to get into this thing” 😊 When she got into the THAR first time for our last weekend’s trip; she said “Wow, this is nice “ 😁

Please help with details on the fix. Like I wrote here last Week, I have this seat problem too. It sometimes comes back and hits the back. When my wife drives and the rest position changed, she doesn’t feel it. It’s only when I get back in and push it behind for my driving position, it starts off.
I think I’ll visit the service Center too for them to assess

What's the tankful to tankful number? I guess 12.6kpl lol:

Probably in the range, I haven’t checked that as I didn’t reset the odometer at last tank full. I’ll plan to do that at next filling. 😊
It appears that the present premium is 1.30L(negotiable) for LX Petrol Manual with the same-day delivery. I got the following quote:
Thar MT petrol HT Black
Ex-Showroom -13,38,681
T.R-3,500
Insurance-81,000
TCS -13,386
FASTag-600
Warranty-24,200
RSA-2021(Optional)
Premium-1,30,000
Ceramic-24,990(Optional)
Logistics-9,090
Total without RTO-16,27,468
This came from a second-hand car dealer who even said that they have taken around 3.5L for a diesel automatic. All the payments, except premium, will have to be transferred to the dealer's account.
Premium to be paid to the dealer after the delivery, so convenient :disappointed

Would you be the 1st owner in this situation or 2nd?
These unscrupulous practices are the reason why the delivery times are getting extended. The dealers are more than willing to offer up regular deliveries to premium to make that extra buck.

First owner only, the car will be delivered from the showroom with temporary registration, you can get it registered with your own RTO, they are billing all over India.
It's an arrangement between the Mahindra dealer and the agent.
