The service station usually interacts with the area customer care team who then take the issue to the plant if required. In my case, the issue got lost in the discussion between the area customer care team and the service station. I was lucky enough to get hold of the area customer care heads number and call them. They are now looking into the issue and asked me to visit another service station for checkup. Let's see

Tired to reach this number. Looks like its switched off. Have you heard anything from them? Their website has not listed XUV 700 yet.

Thanks.

I was able to connect after several attempts, the mats will be available in about 15 days.

Hello Friends,
What is the realistic mileage that can be expected from the petrol XUV700 on Delhi roads. Since my daily running is not much , contemplating a petrol car for myself . Also, the 10year diesel rule in Delhi NCR is making me hesitate to go for diesel.
What is the petrol : diesel sales of XUV700 in Delhi NCR? If anyone can take an educated guess , feel free to share your thoughts.
Thanks

If one books a XUV7OO now and waits it out for delivery, what are the changes expected between now and in the next 45-90 weeks till delivery is given?

Of course there would be price hikes (do let me know if Mahindra will.provide any price protection as of the day of booking). Any estimates of how much prices would be hiked?

Apart from that, are there any changes expected in the car in the interim?

A friend in Delhi in Petrol Manual is getting about 8 Kmpl and my neighbour who has an Petrol AT is getting about 6-7. Mileage might slightly improve later, as both these are almost due for 1st service.

My XUV (Petrol MT) gives ~8.5 kmpl, driven mostly in city. You can expect ~9kmpl if roads are less congested (which I doubt they are, in Delhi)
I must add that this might increase slightly when the engine opens up, expect max. 9.5 kmpl in bumper to bumper traffic after you do 2000 kms or so.

I live in NCR and I bought diesel. Explaining my rationale-

1. Engine reliability - Mahindra is known for diesel. This reduces my risk since petrol engine is fresh out of oven
2. Mileage - I get 13kmpl in city, tankful method. Considering 8-9kmpl reported by petrol users, it translates to INR 55,000 per 10,000km. So incremental spend on vehicle likely to be recovered in 2 years and bonus from 3rd year onwards
3. 10 year NCR rule - I believe in 10 years none of us would be driving ICE engines, we would have shifted to electric or other clean engines. So it takes any advantage from petrol out of the equation

I mentioned my rationale, but please go ahead based on your planned usage. I can bet your usage will increase with XUV700, the vehicle forces you to take it out on long trips. It’s so addicting. I took her out to Agra and I am etching for my next trip

A. Cancel: the easiest option
2. Transfer: can I get the car from the dealer without registration, and give it to someone else? Obviously there are people in my circle interested in it
3. Postpone: Can Mahindra postpone my delivery by a year or two, while stil offering price protection?

I checked this - transfer is only allowed to an immediate blood relative or spouse. So you can o ly transfer to wife/husband, son/daughter or father/mother. Postponement voids price protection.
Essentially, as anyone can sell the car obtained under price protection for at least 50-100K more readily in the market due to the long wait list, M&M want to make sure this does not create a black market through transfers.

Update 2 April morning.

So I took the car to another service station and demonstrated the left pulling issue. Area customer care person was also there. The technicians (finally) acknowledged the issue and took some remedial steps like re alignment and SAS calibration. Unfortunately this did not solve it. Tyres were rotated and SAS calibration done again. But it just worsened. I left the car overnight so they can investigate and figure out.
Now waiting to hear back. Will keep updating.

Update on other issues that i highlighted:
1. Static intermittent hissing with horn - mahindra person said he tested in other cars and it seems to be present in them too. Another design flaw I guess. I am de-prioritizing this issue for now because of the alignment problem
2. High vibration noise at 2500-3000 rpm from underneath. They couldn't figure this out. Still pending but the general tightening of underbody seems to reduce or eliminate the issue for a while
3. Loose break pedal that makes a sound upon foot release - tested by me on another car and seems to be present there too. So closing this one.
4. Sound from DEF tank and front suspension - acknowledged by Mahindra person. No resolution in sight. Might get a resolution for DEF tank first but it just seems speculation as of now.

Took delivery of my XUV today, the auspicious day of Gudhi Padwa! Feeling :Cheering:

Hello to all! This is my first ever post on TBHP and extremely excited to be part of the community. Sorry for the long post but wanted to share my experience!

I have been following this thread since the very beginning. I was (am) in the market for a 7 seater since December 2021 (when I could finally convince my better half). I have a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and my parents live near by as well, so for going out together, 7 seater had become a must. Being an enthusiastic driver, and being used to diesel for several years now, my criteria was that the car should be diesel, and should have sufficient power. For me, sufficient means: on the highway, if I choose to cruise at 90-100, but catch a slow-poke in front, a quick dab of the accelerator should get me by without having to drop a gear. Living in Bangalore though, the ever-growing traffic and long periods of crawling inch by inch, I shifted to automatics in 2016 itself.

So with the above criteria, my options became rather limited to Tata Safari and XUV 700. I did test drive MG Hector, but was left wanting. My Safari test drives were good and honestly, I had not even bothered looking or driving at XUV 700 (given the already ridiculous waiting periods being reported). With almost my mind made up to wait for the Safari Dark edition, I was persuaded by reading this thread to at least go and test drive the XUV 700. I drove the XUV 700 diesel in Mysore, I was quite impressed, asked the SA how long is the wait. He said if you get this year, you will be lucky (with regard to AX 7 L D AT). Pretty much rejected!

Then came the turn to take my wife (who will also drive the car), kids and parents. I went to Keys Motors in Mysore Road (in Bangalore), and much to my surprise, neither my family nor the SAs showed much interest! Then I headed to Anant Cars, to basically showcase what I am foregoing. It was instantly a more pleasant experience. The car on display was a white AX 7, which my family instantly loved. The SA spoke to us, enquired about our usage and suggested that I drive the petrol automatic. One drive, and I was floored, even my wife was floored, my family was bowled over. The creamy smooth engine, the noiseless cabin, the comfortable seating, the tech-loaded and futuristic cabin, all too good a package to forego. Finally, I booked my XUV 700 on the same day, 3rd Jan 2022 (although on the website it shows 5th Jan 2022). I chose the AX 7 L P AT over the other options variants, basically with the following logic:

1. Welcome feature and memory seats: My wife is 5’2” and I am nearly 5’10”. We both drive (mostly short drives in RR Nagar), so the seat adjustment is constant. Welcome feature and memory seats at this price point became super attractive. Safari lost out big time here.
2. Bang for the buck: 360-degree camera, big screens, surround speakers, panoramic sunroof, overall cabin experience, super impressive. Comparable to a segment above! Safari lost out here as well (same price, less features)!
3. THAT ENGINE: Simply put, I did not expect anything great from a petrol engine (despite being academically aware of the 200 horses). Being used to the torque of a diesel and other petrol engines I had experienced, I was not expecting anything other than a little initial push and then a laboured whizz (with 5 adults and 2 kids on board). BUT OH MY GOD! This engine is beast! It just pulled with such effortless ease. And the rest as they say is history.

Talking about history, it does seem like I have been waiting forever now. I call the SA once in 15 days asking if there is any chance of getting the car soon (website states Aug-Sept 2023, downright depressing) and the SA says he will try but realistically not any time soon.

I have two questions:

A. Should I continue waiting? Will Mahindra be able to deliver cars in even 6 months’ time? There were posts suggesting that production will increase, but monthly sales figures are not even touching 4-5k XUV 700s! The wait is just grueling. Any insights? @ram87pune sir, miss your updates!
B. Should I forget about XUV 700 and go for Safari? After the #Dark edition, the Kaziranga is looking even more stunning. My personal favourite though is the Adventure Persona. But knowing what I will miss, I am not able to make up my mind! Just feels like a bad deal for the money. I did not mention ADAS till now as its usability is something I can only judge after using properly, but nonetheless I want it!

Just test drove the XUV 7OO AX-7 Diesel (Manual). Below are my findings:

+Ves:

1) More than adequate power on tap. Its eager to lunge forward at the tap of accelerator
2) Cabin feels very very well appointed
3) Seats (Front 2 rows) are very comfortable & supportive, including underthigh support on the crucial middle row
4) Clutch is nice & light, only thing is the travel range is a little long
5) Panoramic roof feels very nice & available even on the AX-5 trim!
6) Visibility on the front is fantastic!
7) Vehicle felt solid at city speeds, haven't driven on the highway to judge if its the same at 100-120 kmph

-Ves:

1) Major drawback is the lack of roof mounted AC vents for 2nd row. Vents at knee level JUST DON'T match up to the comfort provided by roof mounted vents. Also, 2nd row doesn't get its individual blower controls, however 3rd row gets it. This seems like a foolish move because its more likely that 2nd row will be more occupied than the 3rd!
2) The AC definitely didn't feel adequate for 2nd row with the vents blowing out less air. In the front seats however the AC held up fine
3) The buttons on the key fob, electric seat controls & multi media control (rotary knob & around it) felt a little cheap
4) Suspension felt busy for the 2nd row on undulating roads but still far far better than what the Fortuner is
5) The biggest drawback is the WAITING PERIOD. I was told 8 months waiting for AX-5 Manual - Diesel. Unfortunately we can't wait for that long to get a car because that time period means fixing all the issues on the existing vehicle. And if the issues are fixed, we may as well continue using the Innova for longer duration than buy a new car! lol:

Welcome to the forum!

Although this is very much a personal decision, let me share my perspective:
1. You get a lot more value for similar money with the XUV7OO. From a bang-for-buck point of view the balance is clearly tilted in favor of the XUV.
2. I usually keep my vehicles for 8-10 years. Waiting 6-8 months more doesn't seem that long when seen in this light. Especially for me, since I have a car that at least serves my basic needs at the moment.

This is a decision that you and your family will probably live with for a long time. Get the car that you really enjoyed driving and travelling in as a family. Don't compromise on the car for a few months of wait time.

Hello friends, this is my first post on team-bhp. Avidly following XUV 7 double O posts as I have booked a petrol L through Carpal. I have bought my current Jetta through them 5 years back.
Had a scare with my Jetta with dmf failure, luckily clutch was ok. Cost me around 80 k. Reading with anxiety that the dsg might too fail, so decided to go in for torque converter XUV 7 double O. I was informed that I will be getting the car by September or October. Waiting with bated breath.

Mod Note : Please quote ONLY the relevant bits of a post. Quoting a full, long post inconveniences our mobile readers.

Thanks!

You did mention about your wife also using the vehicle. For that, I would strongly suggest waiting for the XUV. Even on other counts, it is too good (not saying safari is any less).
