With AC in auto mode, does'nt the airflow shift to outside air on its own? That would get dust and other pollutants in. How do you manage it?
Thanks

Yeah, this was a pain. Earlier, I used to turn on air recirculation every time as part of my starting routine. Now, I have turned on air recirculation memory using OBDEleven, so it retains the status across restarts.

I have been using the Kodiaq for a little over two years now. Good mix of city and highway drives (fully loaded with family and luggage). For the city, I tend to keep it at 37 and for longer drives (with family) I make it 39

I have been using it quite frequently for my vacuum cleaner as well as for the air pump. works like a charm

isn't recommended RON 95?
By the way, nice to meet another Kochi-Bangalore once a month fellow. Do share tips and tricks from your experience that I can make use of it as well. |
I have only ever used XP95 in my Kodiaq which is what Skoda recommends. However, i know of a lot of user who put in regular petrol in the Kodiaqs and have never faced any issue (know of someone who has been using it for the last three years now without any issue).
My fear is of filling it up when travelling out of town. I am based in NCR where i had a troubling experience last year when i got XP95 filled up from a bunk on NH8 (not my favourite place by the way) which led to engine cranking issues. When i went back to XP95 from my regular bunk, the issue vanished (engine cranking issue). Would want to avoid this situation in the future and hence wanted to check if its "ok" to get regular petrol instead of XP95 in case one is not sure of the bunk in an "out of town" location.
As a side note, can someone please recommend an IOC bunk in Chandigarh where i can get XP95 filled in. In Chandigarh for a couple of days and want to avoid any unforeseen "engine cranking issues". thanks in advance

Need help. Good folks at Team BHP.
I used to use the Portronics 200W car power adapter quite frequently in my City to charge my laptop etc. However, I am a little scared of using it in the Kodiaq what with the issues with the under powered AGM Varta battery. Has someone tried using a similar product?

As we discussed earlier on this thread, there is possibility of adulteration. Also, XP95 might be of poorer quality than regular petrol in pumps which do not sell XP95 much, because of water separation. For these reasons, I get XP95 only from reputed pumps - otherwise, I would get regular petrol and true up to 95 with Proctane (happened only once). This creates some pain for out-of-station trips - most of the time, I search for good pumps upfront before I leave and plan to fill from these places. Now, I know some good ones on my regular routes, so I do not notice it at all.

1.5 TSI has compression ratio of 10.5:1 & 2.0 TSI has 11.7:1 which is amongst highest at consumer level. Even Urus has 9.7:1 ratio. I will never recommend normal petrol to fill in. If XP95 isn't available then can go for normal one in rarest cases - might be fit to use genuine additives with normal petrol or be ready for regular knocking & carbon deposits with engine seizure.

I have a similar one from Vantro. Used it extensively on two day-long trips, and it was very useful, but I mostly had it powered off the alternator, and was careful to not leave it in use for more than 5-10 minutes when the engine was not running.
I wouldn't recommend running it off the battery with laptop adapters. Depending on the current draw, you could get the battery down to half charge in 3-4 hours.
Three out of 4 air vent adjustment knobs came off last day. Didn't apply any sort of pressure. Anyone else faced the same issue?
I talked to the dealer, they said it is not covered under warranty. Tried emailing Skoda customer care to see if they can provide a support, but seems like they don't deal with anything, they just forward to the dealer itself.
The clips are flimsy. I have had two broken in one year, even after handling them very carefully. Other people have also reported this issue earlier in this thread.

Close to 3 years, all four are gone for me. Re-fixed them but lateral movement is lost - for that I use pinky or unsharpened pencil.

Skoda Air Vent Clip
Worth a try if someone has access to a good 3D printing rig. Looks like many people could benefit it it works.
Ohhh, Skoda! You’d think the ‘Simply Clever’ team would have figured this out now after so many years and models. My humble 2016 Octavia suffered from this, and I used the sharp thin object SOP as well.
Maybe Skoda can include a custom clever tool located in the glovebox to address this perennial issue. :sadface

IOC pump at Sector 28 is one of the best in terms of quality and consistency.

Hello Kodiaq owners, need your inputs!
I am getting a used white L&K 2023 Kodiaq, done only 10k kms at 36 lakhs. Do you think it is a good deal?
Also, it will be driven in Mumbai, so would it be able to handle the bumpy rides on our roads? Asking since, i have a back problem and dont want to be thrown around much. Hows the Manoeuvrabilityin tight spaces?
I intend to keep the car for at leat 10 more years and dont want to break the bank for maintenance. So reliability is a big concern for me.
Look forward to the advice.
