Read an article in Autocar that Honda offer Rs 0.5 lac discount on Elevate.
Now that's a first. Does that mean sales tapering? Or is there some other strategy
At play.
Would love insights of fellow BHPians.
Mod: I've not pasted the URL intentionally in case it's not permitted. |
I presume Creta facelift effect? With an inferior feature list, it will be harder to compete with Creta. Probably whatever price increase they did in January, they are giving as discount. By the way, the Honda official page also mentions the same.
Just had a connect with the dealers and the 50K is split between Cash (10k), Exchange (20k), Corporate (15k) and Loyalty (5k).
I am looking at booking the same, currently finalizing. Also got an information that the road tax is going to increase by ~7% in Karnataka.
This may be a good opportunity to strike.

To go in to specifics,
1) Width difference is minor (~40mm or ~2%).
2) With respect to height, i read here that headroom is very similar, so i presume it is just jacked up and the metal usage is not going to be actually higher in that aspect. Someone please correct me, if this is not right
3) Agreed on tyres aspect.
So i am wondering, where is that ~10% higher weight coming from given that this is actualy lesser in length compared to City?
Hello Team,
Need suggestions related to TR.
I am from Bengaluru, but staying in Pune for a company assignment for another 1-1.5 yrs. I have decided on the Elevate ZX CVT which I test drove from Garve Honda in PCMC.
Since my permanent location is Bengaluru, I want the KA registration. Thus, I asked Garve if they can provide a TR and I will drive it and get it registered in Bengaluru. They flatly denied it.
Since I need the car in May, I contacted both Dakshin and Magnum Honda (Bengaluru), but I am not able to get them to Bargain and get the final price list. Maybe because I have not yet paid the Booking amount.
It would be perfect to get the car here, since I can do PDI, complete all formalities. Need some suggestions here to proceed.
If it has to be done from Bengaluru, can anyone point to the maximum discount you have got and breakup if possible.
Thanks

Why dont you go for the BH Registration?
I am not eligible for BH since my company does not have offices in 4 states :(
Booked the Elevate V CVT for my dad.
Discount of 50K is as follows
1. Loyalty - 5K
2. Exchange - 20K
3. Corporate - 15K
4. Cash discount - 10K
His use is mainly city use with v less highway driving. And never driving above 80-100 kmph.
Had considered following cars
1. Creta (new) - Best exterior looks (just wow). Rejected due to questionable safety. Also just not a fan of this brand
2. Seltos - Best interior (again wow). Questionable safety. Love the brand though.
3. Taigun/Kushaq - Best foot print as per what we required. Also best build quality and torquey 1.0 engine. But lost out on space and economics. Basically it is a smaller and potentially higher maintenance car at a higher cost.
Did not consider - Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser.
Why elevate?
1. Best overall visibility (my dad is old)
2. Previous reliability and service experience of honda
3. Jack of all trades, master of none. -
Good engine, good gearbox, good interiors, good space (especially boot), good ride and handling. Mostly things are good here and not great. Overall we found that it suits my dad's needs the most as it is the best compromise.
His desire was actually to have something like this from honda but not as big. Basically he wanted a Taigun/Kushaq sized and built car with the exterior of a creta and the interior of seltos and the smoothness of elevate's CVT gearbox. Lol.
Btw one place where I found honda sucks is paint quality. White was good and silver was acceptable. But all the other shades have the orange peel effect. But since we have already owned a lot of whites and silver. So took a darker shade. The paint quality issue is just criminal in 2024. VW paint quality was wow again! Also love the shades of Kia - the green is just lovely.
Please elaborate on how to conclude quality of paint in new vehicles. Also didnt get the orange peel effect- do you mean its actually peeling off?

I mean vs VW or Kia, the paint quality is inferior. You can see this most clearly at the boot (near number plate) by staring right at it from a distance of 6 inches.
Regarding orange peel effect -

Has anyone purchased sunshades curtains for the Honda Elevate? This is one of the biggest misses in the car I feel, that would have added a lot of value to the user. The blistering heat in Kerala is unrelenting - AC on full is not enough during peak times.
Saw quite a few on Amazon but would prefer first hand user feedback.

Any recommendations? Thanks
Hi all, is there any update on a price hike on the Elevate in April? I am planning to buy the car in June but the dealer is claiming that the price of the SUV will be hiked by around Rs 30,000 in April even though there's no official word on it from Honda. Moreover, the prices of all Honda cars were hiked in January this year so another increase barely three months later makes no sense. Is the dealer bluffing?

Yes, same story with my [native] city dealership as well. Also, I do recall its published in Autocar and/or in another automotive page. Not sure of how much of an increase.
So, it could be true.

Multiple dealerships in Delhi NCR are saying the same and quoting the same amount as well.

Companies would tend to push out inventory in march to record higher financial year sales, and so one can expect dealers to give slightly higher discounts in March. A new financial year starts on April 1, hence companies / dealership like to close their books of account before 31st March, hence the discounts.
Price increase in April can be a trick to sell as many cars before March ending.
Had received this flyer from Honda Ranchi on 05th of March.
