Yes it generally makes sense. I agree, the immediate delivery actually becomes a +ve factor, rather than the discount.
Haven't seen any discounts from the other Honda dealers. |
If there's a long waiting list then it might makes sense. But are you sure about that? If that's the case how come they have old stock still left? Whichever you look at it, I think there is room for more bargaining unless you are in super hurry to close the deal.

Just had a bad experience. My wife was stopped at an intersection along with other vehicles and one biker tried to run through a gap and damaged the front left bumper corner. I had the Philips dashcam installed by the dealer so when I connected to retrieve the footage, I saw no new footage for the last few weeks. What a waste of 12k that I paid for the dashcam. |
Exactly for this reason I recommend only inbuilt memory (freedom from memory card issues) dashcams to my connects with super-capacitor tech to handle wide range of temperatures so that they don't become dysfunctional without our knowledge in special situations (eg: driving again after parking under the sun..)
I have a DDPAI Mini5 at front and DDPAI mini3 at rear in my vehicle.
Sorry Mods, for going outside the topic but I thought this information was necessary.
Greetings All,
I have come across some instances where the Android Auto wireless connection in my car disconnects abruptly. This happens infrequently - may be 1 out of 10 times I use it. However, when it does happen, there seems to be no way to reconnect Android Auto unless I turn off and restart the car engine. Restarting the infotainment does not help.
I wanted to check if other Honda owners have faced this issue with wireless Android Auto and if you have found any solutions or workarounds for it. I also wanted to know if Honda service centers acknowledge this as a known issue that they can address. Any insights would be much appreciated.
Additionally, I would appreciate recommendations for a reliable Authorized Honda service center in Bangalore to get the periodic maintenance done for my car. I recently moved here with my vehicle purchased from outside the city. Based on prior positive experiences with Maruti service centers, I prefer establishing a long term relationship with one trusted service advisor/service center for my Honda as well.
I look forward to hearing your suggestions. Thank you!

I experienced this, as you mentioned, rarely in wireless mode. (don't have a solution for this; has been reported in this forum before - looks like a known issue)
In wired mode, there were no such issues till last month when I had multiple instance of
- Sudden Black screen and audio off
- Glitches when attending a call. Audio turns off and Would be unable to hear the person on the other end
- Disconnection with "Android auto not available" messages
- Maps started in phone don't carry over to the head unit with "disconnect and try again" message
I did mention this to the SA during the 2nd service. They just replaced the cables inside and nothing else, they didn't clarify what caused the issue.
Haven't had a problem in the few days in wireless or wired mode. Will update if the issues crop up again.
Do you think there is value in getting oil change done at the 1000km/1 month service mark?
Hypothesis: A new engine has debris and/or fine metal shavings. While the filter should catch them, it is advisable to change factory oil at the 1000 mark. Also, factory oil may not be synthetic due to mass production, and owners can be sure that factory oil is replaced by the Honda Synthetic 2.0

Oil change is not part of first service. It is usually just basic check and top up if any. Having said that you could get the oil change if you like, though synthetic oil is recommend after few thousand km and not so early. Others can opine :)

Curious, why is synthetic effective only after a few thousand kilometers?

I have read somewhere in the forum about using mineral oil for initial period and then switching to synthetic oil. Not able to find the link but will share if I can locate it.

During the 1k service, they said there was an update for Android Auto disconnects. It seems to be less frequent now, but I usually connect CarPlay for longer drives and it's rock solid. Wired AA also is stable, and I have never had black screens and restarts. Usually if it disconnects, just go to the settings Device and toggle Bluetooth and AA on, and it jumps right back to the Maps and Music.
Magnum Honda in Kanakpura Road is easily accessible by Metro, and have had a good experience, both with service and accessory fitting. Manager is very approachable and hands on. Had a Jazz for 10 years and have had uniformly bad experiences with Dakshin and Whitefield, so got it serviced in TVS, Coimbatore.

I have rules out German as reliability is a primary aspect for me. With the Japanese twins, I'm not that happy with their interior quality, and lack of boot space in the hybrid versions. |
Hey man, since you are a Honda owner, I'd suggest you to go for the City, not the Elevate. Justified below:
1) You are true about the dated infotainment, but I guess it would not be a deal breaker.
2) For the ground clearance, it is almost similar to the Elevate and is not very low. Will pass 9/10 speed breakers without any effort.
3) You can even opt for the Hybrid version as it makes more sense.
However, I will suggest you 2 more cars: The Astor and the Virtus.
Astor: Spacious car, supreme interiors and good drivability, all under 20L. You can opt for the CVT, considering you are upgrading from a Jazz, the CVT will not be a problem, and its better calibrated than the Elevate too. And with the new introduction of features such as ventilated seats, auto dimming IRVM and wireless carplay, android auto and charging, it make sense as a complete package.
Virtus: I know you ruled out Germans, but only the DSG gearbox is not reliable. And even with DGSs, they were unreliable in the previous version only. In the newer versions, no problems are being reported. However, I'd recommend to you the manual versions of the GT trim. They are super fun to drive and are a worth upgrade from your Jazz. Do give it a second thought please:

1) Engine and Transmission: This is straightforward, the 1.5 CVT in Elevate > 1.2 Manual in Jazz especially for Bangalore traffic. |
We loved the quick, short gearshifts of our 2012 Jazz, but in Bangalore CVT is a blessing
Quote:
2) Ground Clearance: This is one place where Elevate trumps Jazz easily.
3) Exterior: While the Elevate looks butch and a proper SUV, I would say the Jazz looks adorable as well. Since looks are subjective it won't be fair to compare them.
4) Dashboard and Infotainment: Again it won't be fair to compare a 12-year-old vehicle with a recent one, but Elevate > Jazz.
|
Our Elevate has practical controls and AA and CarPlay are a boon. The screen is also well positioned, and touch sensitive. Also find the Auto AC and Max Cool invaluable in our traffic
Quote:
5) Internal Space: Both I and my wife felt that our Jazz was a lot more spacious than the Elevate. The window panes are comparatively so small in Elevate, that it felt like a Kwid/Alto from the inside. The backseats were also not that good. So for this Jazz > Elevate.
|
Believe me the drivers view is magnificent, and am sure it's true for other C-SUVs. From a Jazz, this feels less roomy, thanks to all that glass, but the Elevate is more roomy, also the boot is excellent
Quote:
6) Storage and Practicality: My Jazz has magic seats, end of story! Jazz >>>> Elevate.
|
Not quite, as we used it only on a couple of occassions, while shifting furniture, the Elevate seats fold down, unlike the City, and HV a 60:40 split, so u carry long items easily.
Quote:
7) Driving Position: Elevate gives you a nice view of the road, but the Jazz is also equally good in providing a wide viewing angle with huge glass areas. This may be a bias of driving the car day in and day out, but I felt more comfortable in my Jazz than in the Elevate behind the steering.
6) Interiors: The Elevate looks good, but I wouldn't say that it is way ahead of my Jazz. The City has a much plush feel to it when it comes to interiors and comfort compared to Elevate.
|
The Jazz ergonomics really spoil you, with all those useful niches, and the Elevate does not offer these, but I felt absolutely at home, driving it. Ergonomics are spot on, and it's as chuckable as the Jazz in tight corners and parking. Consider the lower spec V variant, if u don't miss the Adas, sunroof etc

Quality of plastics, and insulation is a bit of a dampener, with the Elevate as compared to the other C-SUVs. Also you need to get used to taking speed breakers at right angles, if you don't want excessive body roll, but apart from that the engine, handling, ride quality and space are winners as compared to our Jazz

If not for the ground clearance and Jurassic-era infotainment system I would have picked the City(or Verna 1.5 NA) as my upgrade eyes closed.
|
Agree, the ground clearance and suspension really sold us on the C-SUV, or would have preferred a sedan. Btw, Magnum offered us a decent exchange for our 2012 Jazz, better than the others.
HI guys,
I got the first service done sometime ago and this is what I realised in the invoice.
Firstly, it shows service start date as 29th Sept '23 whereas my purchase / Invoice date is 11th Dec '23.
Secondly, upon receiving the car from service, I got several messages from Honda wherein someone else's name was mentioned for feedback.
Kindly suggest what to do, and what could possibly be the reason behind this.
I got a 15km run vehicle with a perfect PDI and looks & drives perfect too.
Service invoice is attached. Purchase date was 11th Dec, 1st service date was 28th December.

Hello Folks,
Query related to delivery procedure.
The Honda dealer explained that only after the full payment is received it will go for registration process and that TAT for that is 7 working days. The vehicle will be delivered with the new number plate.
I will conduct the PDI of the car before full payment. But the query is - is the process mentioned by dealer a standard process ? . I will release the payment only after satisfactory inspection of the car , I expected the registration process shouldn't take more than a day or two - anyone with recent purchase experience in Maharashtra could you please share your views ?

Hi, I am taking delivery of our vehicle tomorrow. I did a PDI once the vehicle reached the showroom and since everything was perfect and as expected, we released the full amount ot the dealer to initiate the registration process. This dealer had already made it clear to us that only after receiving the full amount will they start the reg process. So in that sense, I think your dealer is just following normal standard.
And yes, it took ~5-6 days for us to get the new reg plate and sort our tax, insurance etc.
Hope this helps.

29th Sep 23 is not invoice date but warranty start date. Honda normally starts the warranty when the car is dispatched from their factory. I was told the same when my car was to be dispatched from the main honda facility. After my confirmation, the car reached dealer in about 8-10 days time. I dont think there is anything to worry about. Enjoy the ride !!
