Hello all,
I have my first service for the safari coming up. I have faced no issues till date (touch wood) and my purchase and driving experience has been all good.
I have read that the lane departure warning in the new software update causes an issue on the MID.

Can anyone please tell me the changes in the latest software update because I use navigation quite often and if it changes to driver attention every time I change a lane, it will be quite an issue. I won't get the software updated if I don't find value in the updates.

Regards,
Sphere

Can anyone please help me with this.

Hey even my car could not switch it on/off. But one fine day the 3rd AC knob was switched on in the 3rd row when 7 of us were travelling, after that I could use the infotainment to switch on/off the rear AC. Try switching on the 3rd row AC blower knob and check the infotainment.

Noticed this weird driver seat behavior recently. The easy entry/exit feature (where seat goes low for easy ingress/egress) seems to be inefficient. If one stops ignition and opens the door, the seat goes low. But it comes back up as soon as the door is closed. Should it not remain low so that when driver re-enters, it does not have to use the battery to go low again?

The seat goes low when the driver exits and locks the door. However, when the driver reopens the door next time after unlocking, the seat again goes low and makes ingress easier.

Have seen the same behavior in Harrier, I believe the implementation would be similar in Safari.

Yes it is a feature. Quite useful.

I have the Jan update, and no, there is no issue because of lane departure.

Although, have faced issues with instrument cluster getting stuck with 0s (restart of the instrument cluster restored it), and wireless Android Auto connecting/disconnecting repeatedly. I think the 2nd issue was triggered by the phone. It was resolved by restarting the engine.

PS: Should have used multi-quote. Admins, pls merge

That was the point in my post. Moving the seat back up after egress is unnecessary because then it has to be moved down again for ingress.

Basically the car does not know / does not sense if you had open the door for an entry or exit. So it just repeats the process all the time.

If there was a sensor to sense the the entry or exit, it could have been possible but that adds to another level of unwanted complexity.

Every seat (I think driver's included) has weight sensors. They are used for seat belt warning. So, the car knows if a seat is occupied or not. It should be trivial to use the weight sensor to tell that door has been closed AFTER egress and hence keep the seat down.

Did not get to try the lane departure warning but I faced the instrument cluster getting stuck at 0 once, but a simple restart didn't work. I had to stop and perform a forced restart from the settings, only then it started working like normal.

Anybody facing issue with AC. Whether it is in Internal Circulation or External the compressor trips after some running and then it starts blowing hot air. Recently i noticed that this happens when the AQI is in the range of 1-10.

Anybody else faced this issue?

Sorry not a very helpful reply. Never faced this issue in my pre facelift. Where do you get AQI of 1-10 :uncontrol

Post Face Lift they have added a Air Purifier so you can monitor the AQI in the car.

The Air Purifier is there in the pre-facelift too. But where I drive around it works hard to get the AQI to 30 or lesser. Never managed single digits though. So wondering where you get such good air.

Hi, just had first service done. Only charges were of DEF which is understandable. Got the rear led bar changed under warranty as it was partially not working due to water seepage.
However, FM reception is still poor. SA says stable software patch is yet to come.
IRA app was pretty helpful for me to track cars location. I could see when car left workshop , where it was driven(to another place and waited for 30min) , speed (114kmph in city) etc etc. raised complaint to service head of that TASS who promptly fired the driver.

Lesson- get tracking device for other car as well
