1. After s/w update the "Rear AC" option started working. How it works is - IF the AC is ON on 3rd row, then this is by default ON on the infotainment option. You can switch it OFF from here - works.
BUT - now with this option working - I found that the AC temperature doesnt go up/down rather it keeps it at very low of around 18C :Frustrati

In fact the issue is - switching it back to "ON" after you switch it off using the infotainment system. That doesn't work. At least this is still not working for me even after the Jan 2024 update.

3. Android Auto Music disconnects sometime when I switch the indicator on-off and something is on blind spot so alert comes. The map works but then music sound doesnt come like the audio is supressed with indicator alert. You have to switch off the car and turn it back on for it to work. I guess someone else also pointed this out.

Yes, the way out is to instantly press the change music source button (the bluetooth button on the steering control and move to Radio. Return back after 2 - 3 seconds and android music will be back.

5. Someone did mention - whenever the lane departure warning comes on, the dashboard display automatically switches to the "Driver Assist" menu, regardless of what screen I'm currently on (fuel efficiency, maps, etc.). Annoying.

I did. This started with Jan 2024 update and didn't face it with the previous version of the software. No proper testing at Tata, it seems.

Again, the erratic engine behaviour, looks like Safari has some mood swings at times. similarly, the Seat ventilation doesn't work, One of the speakers vibrating badly while in high bass - not sure what all we have to face.

I checked out the Safari Facelift today and it looks so dreamy.

Positives
Negatives
The car has lots of positives but TATA ASC remains a BIG gamble. Tata is focussing on exclusive SCs for their EVs and I feel the same approach should be followed for premium ICE offerings. Tata should not shy away from opening company-owned ASCs. At the very least, they should involve themselves more with dealer-owned SCs to ensure good service.

All in all a great 5 seater and an all-rounder package. Once Tata sorts the aftersales, R&D and quality of components used(tech), it is game over for a few big players in the market.

However, for a family of 6, looking for an upgrade to XL6, the car fails miserably on the comfort front. You might consider me crazy for comparing the two cars, but this is just my humble opinion. Cheers!

I can totally relate to your opinion when considering an upgrade from XL6. I had an Ertiga and while looking for an upgrade, all the big ones - Safari, XUV700, ScorpioN fail miserably in space management both in leg-room and boot space.
Finally went for Kia Carens which is great in this respect.

The minivan body style is the most space efficient. That is why vehicles like Etriga, Carens and BRV are able to fit 3 usable rows of seating + a decent boot in a compact form factor. Also why Innova is the king of space, again, cabin as well as boot space. The SUV body styling means there has been a compromise. It is form over function.

Separately, I noticed a small crack on the rear connected light bar :crying. At first I thought it was caused by the Tata ASS during the first service however upon reviewing the photos I took of the car before handing it over for the first service, I noticed that the crack was visible.

I suspect it to be a stone hit. Any speeding car next to you on a bad road can cause such damage to your vehicle and other vehicles around you.*

Spotted this today on Nasik-Pune highway.

One month ownership update of my Safari:
Have been thinking of dashcam lately , but wanted to understand from other Safari owners here if there is a way to push in a SD-card and get a recording like in a XUV700. Has any one heard if this is possible?
Trying to avoid extra cables and adding dashcam to an already full cluster in the front(camera mounted on top of the windshield +fasttag already clutters the area IMO)

Hello all,
I have my first service for the safari coming up. I have faced no issues till date (touch wood) and my purchase and driving experience has been all good.
I have read that the lane departure warning in the new software update causes an issue on the MID.

Can anyone please tell me the changes in the latest software update because I use navigation quite often and if it changes to driver attention every time I change a lane, it will be quite an issue. I won't get the software updated if I don't find value in the updates.

Regards,
Sphere

Visited Trend automobiles today. Found about them from this thread.

It is a pretty decently equipped body shop in a locality called Garebhavipalya on hosur road in South Bangalore. Luckily it is only 15mins away from my place. The damages are shown in my previous post. They were able to fix it within 20 minutes!

To be honest, Trend Auto has been my go to place for any body work since 11-12 years. Aneesh and his team have done a wonderful job each time I've gone there. I had a similar situation when a fully loaded Luna rammed my front bumper of my Verna back in 2013. They did the job well.and matched the color as much as possible given that the car was already 2 years old.

Trend Auto a definite recommend.

I monitored the entire process and it looked super simple. They removed some screws under the chrome bumper (shown in image below) and it came off easily. They used a heat gun to straighten the bumper and then nicely pushed it back. That area now looks like as if nothing had happened!

This made me realize that quality of Tata ASS (Kropex, Singasandra) is really poor. They wanted to replace the whole front bumper for a minor damage. This also made me realize that Tata Safari is a well built car and the bumper material is very high quality and repairable.

Trend automobiles earned a long-term customer today (hopefully I won't need them again though, LOL). I am going to have a great weekend!

Please ensure that the Radar Sensor for the ADAS system has not been hit. If it has been bent beyond its calibrated range it might cause it to behave unexpectedly. And we don't want any unexpected behaviours from an automated system that controls your vehicle.

Hi Friends,
I would get delivery of safari acc plus AT next week. I am planning to take 2yr extended warranty. Dealer is quoting 40K whereas somewhere on tata website I saw it as 33K.
Can anyone who has taken EW recently confirm?

Hello, please do take an EW for your Tata Safari, it does cover major parts after your standard warranty expires. I have an Altroz, the EW was 14000/- on the website, I paid close to 17000/- for the same including GST. The website price wasn't inclusive of GST, when I got it in 2020.

Also, the suspension link rods and wiper assembly are not included in EW.

Hello bhpians
I was wondering, do you all make the final payment and then so the PDI of the vehicle or half payment first then PDI and full payment.

I paid Rs10000 as advance during booking, once vehicle arrived sid the full PDI. Only after this balance payment

I remember I paid only a lac or may be two before I did the PDI of my Safari. Dealer will put pressure to pay all but don't budge. It is an important check before the car gets registered. If you pay all, your PDI issues may not get much importance from dealer.
