The seller is showing plates sourced from other sources as theirs. So be careful as the product advertised and shown may be different from actual product

IND Number plates at affordable rates delivered to you!

Was looking for a good, reliable place where I could order number plates.

Most of the local shops who supplied these number plates were asking between 600-1200 for just the plates, and some of the online vendors are selling similar plates for 2-3 times the price and calling them JMD, Japan plates, superior quality this and that and then charging separately for the frames, with lousy customer support and thought that they were doing the customer a favor by selling these overpriced plates.

Decided to try out a new company called Movell License Plates, These guys are based in Kerala but Ship all over India.
www.movellplates.com
They offer several colors and designs of number plates, They make plates for cars and bikes.

Ordered a set of Red Colored IND plates (with frames) - on the 29th of June - 3.00PM.
Total cost 888Rs - Including Shipping.
They also sell just the number plates for 600-650rs (for Cars)
10.00PM same day got a message informing me that RED is not in stock and they have Green or Blue colored plates.
On 30th Morning 11.30AM got a call from them informing me of the same. Told them to change my order to blue as red was not in stock. 10.00 PM got an email mentioning that my plates are shipped!

Delivery happens on the 2nd of July!

Nice pricing, much cheaper than what I got IND plates for locally. Tip: This font & style is fine, but cops have started a crackdown against the IND logo & hologram. Don't drive around with it.

Are they genuine HSRPs or just embossed plates with a IND logo and hologram?

Can they do a custom job? I am interested in an embossed numberplate WITHOUT hologram or IND.

Spotted something funny on their web page :D

Do they print their company name also on the plate ? (ref bottom right part of plate). Is it visible in the final product ?

With the crackdown on the IND plates, even I was wondering if it would be possible to source the plates without the hologram or IND symbol.

Something tells me the plates come pre-printed with the hologram and symbol and it would not be possible to get it removed, but I could be wrong. stupid:

Now I am worried! Maybe I have to cover up the IND patch with a white sticker? They are not very strict about it but you never know.

They do have plain number plates without the IND or the colors. Contact them please.

Yes it is. Its very-very small like a pencil mark. You can not see it until you zoom into the area.

GTO, these IND plates are illegal unless they are issued by the respective state government (actual HSRPs). It does not matter whether they have the hologram or IND sticker. They still have ''IND'' written all over the actual letters / numbers.

I don't think it is a good ideal to endorse them on the forum. My humble opinion. Post may be deleted if inappropriate. :)

Have the cops in Mumbai started this crackdown? I drive down to Mumbai every weekend. Havent been stopped by any of the cops.

With all the talk about IND plates being unauthorized and the recent crackdown in Tamil Nadu, would anyone buy them till the government introduces & mandates the high security number plates ?

Put a white / black sticker over the Blue IND area and you should be ok for now. Atleast it wont immediately be spotted by the cops since you are worried that they might catch you.

Raj

How did you order?
Since the website doesn't have any option to order, I called them up and was adviced to order through ebay.

Actually it has to be a very local phenomenon restricted to the local vehicles where the cops know such plates are definitely illegal. This is because many states have started issuing HSRPs and they look very similar except for one difference. They are rivetted to the car and do not use nuts and bolts. For example Telangana has now made it mandatory for new vehicles to put HSRPs. You need to pay for the plate when you go for the registration. Later once the plates arrive you go back to the RTO and get the plates fixed.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I found myself flattered by Movell. Movell has used my photographs of my Thunderbird 500's registration number plates - I removed them sometime back after Tamil Nadu banning them - posted in Team-BHP without my permission.

Movell has the audacity to claim my Thunderbird 500's registration number plates as their work! BTW, I had bought them by paying ₹ 450 for a set of two embossed smart registration number plates at Bangalore on 4 May 2013 from a different manufacturer.

I have decided to water-mark all my photographs at the cente without caring for aesthetics to protect my photographs from these liers, fraudsters and imitators. :Frustrati

They have other pics also from TBHP. I was able to identify the same using the watermark.

HSRP details page has image taken from TBHP. Link
