Re: Fiat 1100-103 1955 Stationcar

Hi,
I am sorry to have kept all of you waiting for pics after completion of restoration. My father passed away in November 2011 and so I was a bit fazed & also busy with consequential responsibilities.Anyway the pics are here & I need a few parts like original headlights,Inner view mirror,Rear roof handles and lights. If anyone of you can help me procure these parts-I would be eternally grateful.I hope you like the car in its restored avtaar...

Hi the car looks like it is well on its way to becoming a show queen and what I see on my phone you have done a fine Job putting everything, however I would do the following.

A) change the grill back to the three bar Aluminum from the current elegant grill.
B) revert to the original pre 57 taillights

These two things are confusing the identity of your car which is a rare pre 57 familiare.

Headlamps are near impossible to find in India and for now I think the current ones that you have fixed look very close to original.

How does she run?

Re: Fiat 1100-123 1955 Stationcar

Lovely restroration. I saw this thread for the first time just a few days ago when it was bumped up.
I clearly remember seeing a car like this in my school days, and as far as I remember there were two in Mumbai. The one I saw used to be seen often on Nepean Sea Road (Lady Jagmohandas Marg)
That was so long ago, the car I saw may have been driven by a lady, and the colour was more towards grey.
This is a car that I would collect, practical and unusual in that it stands out yet being a Fiat.

Cheers harit

Thanks Harit & the mole for your valuable suggestions and words of encouragement.Pls help me in locating or sourcing the 3 moustache grill,Left rear light(2 globe ones), inside view mirror & rear inner roof handles (both sides). All major mechanicals have been overhauled alongwith 4 new tyre & tube's replaced. The car is road worthy.

Re: Fiat 1100-123 1955 Stationcar

Hi friends,
It's been a long time since I posted about the car on which a few improvements have been made in the recent past as suggested in some earlier posts. I feel happy that the car has inched towards originality and that's how I like my cars- to be as close as possible to how they came from the factory.
Cheers...

Those brushed finish fins on front grill though . Kindly share few more photographs and perhaps some more closeups of the front fascia.

This is not to say that the rest of the car is not tip top, but did I say that grill was just amazing?

PS - Could not locate the drool smiley.

PPS - Will it be possible to procure that grill alone for wall art?

PPPS - Which Indian Oil Outlet (Name and Location) is this which has such a wonderful workshop?
