Re: Buick Super 8 - Restoration

Hello Ram,

The car had been put in the cold storage in order to attend to the other cars . Day before yesterday commenced work on setting the bonnet correctly and on wire brushing the body.

Will post some photographs upon my return to Lucknow.

Regards
Chauhan

So any update on this as well. Have seen the other thread about the Plymouth where this one was visible and here vice versa so got curious on the state of affairs on this one.

Re: Buick Super 8 - Restoration

Hello Girish,

Various cars at different stages of restoration.

For the super 8 body work completed, presently the car is waiting it's turn for mechanical work.

Will update progress once things start moving on the Buick front.

Regards
Chauhan

Might I ask what Carb setup it runs/will run on? Dual Twin-Choke, Downdraft Carter? OR Edelbrock?

Jokes apart, I sincerely hope that the simply smooth Straight-Eight fires up, and runs in a buttery smooth manner.

I once got up close with Buick Super 8 bearing registration "USJ/7447", in Salt Lake, Calcutta, 2011.

At idle, when the engine was barely turning over @ ~500RPM, the Straight-Eight was so smooth, goodness! I could hear the Carburettors sucking in the air, faintly! I could also hear the valves clicking.... That car got me in tears...I mean literally! Everything was MINT!

Right from the American made Firestone White-Walls, to the monogrammes.....

I decided then! OH! YES! I DEFINITELY ASPIRE TO BUY A BUICK 8! The car was so very majestic....so very majestic......:sigh::sniff:

Stuff dreams are made of, aren't they?

BTW-"USJ" is a Lucknow registration, is it not? Could you provide me with more details, regards to the same?

Cheers!
