A PM should come shortly to your inbox.

The Aundh (Poona-7. ) area has some number of Fiats left. In and around Sakal Nagar itself, there are-

1] MH12CA1739- An S1 in factory original paint. She has her own moving tale, which I shall share shortly. Sadly my Lumia broke yesterday, so- The phone will undergo a restoration (). The bill is more than the phones IDV (!), so lets see if something can be salvaged. If not- Simply go and shoot again.

2] MTJ 476- A President in factory original paint (Quite possibly.) Original to the last bolt. (Pun intended!). Intact. Negligible rust. Original meter cluster. The President grille, along with the PAL badge, remarkably intact.

Hasn't run since 1998, that's what I believe. Definitely not after 2002.

3] MH12CA15XX- S1. Fully original upto the last bolt, like CA1739. This one is a daily driver.

4] There is a walled up white Delight that can only be seen at certain angles from the road. Battered.

5] MRH 3504- A Delight. 1972. But with President fittings. Made in Germany HLs. Previously owned by a member of the WIAA, as is evident by the AA Badge.

Then there was this S1 in Karve road. The 70+ owner just left the car to rot. And bought a red Nano. It is a sight to behold! A rotting Fiat, beside a mint Nano. Shame.

There are many more I discovered, thanks to my cycling antics.

I don't think any Delight was offered with an ammeter. Popular period fitting though.

An anomaly as seen on 5775 (Just another, I know! )

The speedo cluster. All seems normal, save for the non-working gauges. The fuel (obviously! ) gauge is working and the ignition & oil lights are glowing as well.

BUT- As they say, don't gauge a book by it's cover.

The temp thingy is missing. But, look at the speedo. 100 KMPH. Are you 'kiddin me?

Compare this, to the one on MRH 3504-

This one is graded upto 140, and is correct.

For reference, Karl (or Shyam or anyone else for that matter)- Does anyone have a pic of how a '72 Delight's meter cluster looks? Needed for reference.

: Oh- The 500th post of mine. Whew! What a way to celebrate! Stay tuned!

Any more info about the car pictured?

That said- Is it possible to get the temp. thingy? And the 10-140 background as well.

Car's long scrapped! Took this pic. while twas at the scrapyard years ago in fact!
Incidentally, the speedo and the front grille were just about the only original bits on it!

I did salvage the complete speedo- but it went to a friend, also in Pune!

Long time, no posts on this thread! When can we expect a full restoration?
