There are one too many fittings that need to be looked into, restored and then fitted.

Complete interior upholstery is imported, they are almost in place, the Wiring loom is being restored, engine pulled out, painted and again fitted back.

By the end of June we will have the car ready for road tests.

Pics by weekend, please pardon me

Please don't restore old wiring. It's a hazard waiting to happen. Just redo it with fresh wires on the current loom pattern

Give him an extinguisher when you deliver the car

Cheers

An awesome overhauling, with minute details being kept in mind while working on it.

Re: Restoration: 1967 Chevy Impala V8 Rustbucket

I just followed up on this restoration , also got to drive the Mammoth. It has come up quite good, though Pavan says he is now doing a running restoration in the next 10 days before delivering it to the rightful owner. This car does 100 kmph on the gps in First gear, never got a chance to put it to second gear. Very impressive the way its come from what we saw it initially as a Rust Bucket. Maybe i will post some more pics after he posts them on Facebook.

Wow. A 100 km per hour in the first gear

Wonder if in second gear she touches 200 and in third 300

Yeah, Very funny, Bulldogji, glad you did not say 4th gear and 500 kmph, hope you know this car is 3 speed

Many can sulk, few of us here have seen this car from the day its restoration has started. Glad it saw the daylight after 3 decades. Also, i felt its best for the thread and viewers to see the final product. Here are few pics, and signing out of here.

Thank you for sharing images. May I request further information as to how are you using US plates ? Is this car on carnet. Green tax ? Clearance on these plates & one time tax.

You have actually asked Bulldogji on an American car on the number of gears. Sir, and we appreciate the car as enthusiasts.

Cheers

Absolutely drool worthy stuff! The owner is one lucky person. Wishing him many happy miles in the future.

If you go back to the last image of post #3 in this thread, then you can see an Indian plate kept (more like hidden) behind the grille. I am assuming the US plates are just for show.

Re: Restoration: 1967 Chevy Impala V8 Rustbucket

Kasli sir and Impala59, i am just Pavan's Friend, i felt good seeing this Monster come to life. He usually has this habit of inviting few of his close friends to Test Drive all the cars restored by him, and later he will work on the feedbacks, i just wrote what i witnessed as a noob. We all are car enthusiasts and appreciate them coming back to life. No offense to anyone please, I Know about Hormusji and his passion, i just replied with the similar pun

I think the history of this car is mentioned in the beginning of this thread, it shows it has this "MYM 2550" registration ( hope i read it right) , maybe i will ask about this to when i meet him next. But in Bangalore the cops are fine when it comes to old cars, i drove this car on the Airport road with cops standing at 2 spots, All they did was took selfies The New Jersey plates looks cool actually. ive suggested him to just let that be and place the Indian Number plate somewhere else.

My friend has taken couple of videos of the drive and the exhaust note, will share it sometime .

Re: Restoration: 1967 Chevy Impala V8 Rustbucket

Gowda79, Hi.

It is great to be able to have a little light hearted fun here, no offence taken or given

The car looks great, hope the owner uses it regularly and appreciates the effort it takes to get a old car going.

If he is open to some advice, you could suggest not pushing her by driving at high revs, ( 100 kmph in 1st Gear)

This will result in unwanted and premature wear to many components which are getting harder and harder to come by, even in the US.
