Buckingham Palace to Bugstop: 1977 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II

An exciting project, never imagined, i will get to do such an awesome machine ever A 1977 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II a single owner car that started its life being inside the Buckingham palace. For the initial 35,000 miles it has done, its only seen the British Roads, early 90's the car saw Indian shores and did another 9,000 miles here before an abrupt mechanical snag put it off the roads a decade back.

RaviPoll's friends car and i was given the opportunity to get it Road-worthy and with the sheer excitement of seeing a Rolls roll into my workshop, i agreed without thinking twice

Work to be done on the car:

1) Tandem fuel pumps locked due to some underbody impact
2) Brakes need a full overhaul as they too have jammed
3) Complete replacement of all essential lubricants
4) Air-conditioner repairs
5) Check for Exhaust leakage
6) Twin SU carb overhaul
7) Bodywork and a Full Re-Paint

All excited and work begins

Ah! The joy of being able to make a profession out of something you enjoy.

Man, am I envious.

Knowing your past work, this will be a joy once finished.

Car looks awesome, but there is lot more than meets the eye. The paint has oxidised and falling apart, Its been decades and more since the fluids are changed. A few minor electrical glitches.

Just hoping we sail through.

Hopefully you get the RR363 brake fluid. Anything else may start chewing up the rubber components. Some people have used Dot 3 as well successfully.

Amazing would be an understatement.
Any ball park figures for price of OEM RR parts that are being used?
And please post a few interior shots.

The car is such a beauty, specially the front nose and the grill. A true symbol of elegance and presence.

The original color of the car is also very unique. I hope that the new color that would be applied is similar to the original color.

All my best wishes for this awesome restoration, Pawan.

I remember Fifth Gear featuring this same model as a cheapskate alternative to the new RR Wraith and this thread pops up in no time.
ATB for the restoration, subscribe to this thread.

Awesome restoration!

Do you notice much difference in the existing paint on the car when compared with other cars of same vintage (or even the recent "normal" cars)? Would re-painting this require a special/different process/treatment?
