Wonderful job done there! The new paint scheme suits the antique look much more than the yellow it had. Interior finish also very well done. The engine looks new with the paint job!

Thank you all, The car is presently on its 500 kms of testing. There are few minor things TO DO on the car. Will update with better pics very soon.

Cost of restoration is subjective, Spares take up 40% of the total cost.

Probably in a few days time the car will be driven back home to KL

Yes, The Bangalore - Kerala drive was done

The drive was awesome, but definitely very very challenging.

Awesome because, the Bug was sooper.

Challenging because, the roads to kerala all through was single lane, bad patches of roads and to top it all up, Rains lashing Gods own country.

6:30 am - Myself and Mechanic started from Bangalore, the Roads were awesome untill Coimbatore,

1:00 pm - Had a minor scare with the car midway, but thank god, Sanjay and Arjun balu's workshop was close by and was granted access, Spent a little over 2 hours, sorted out the issue.

4:00 pm - we began our journey by 4:00 pm from Coimbatore via Pallakkad

9:00 pm - Adlur through lashing rains, i stop for a while to meet up a friend.

10:30 pm - We stop at Cochin for dinner, 11:00 pm i call our JayD and he comes over, drive upto his house which is closeby, had a chance to oogle at his super collection of cars,

11:15 pm - i take leave and we are off to Alleppey, Rains showed us no mercy, and through rains we managed to reach Kayamkulam by 12:45 pm. We were directed by Dr. Philip Varghese's son to his house and finally at 1:00 am the Bug is Home, and we get much needed rest

Good roads, Bad roads,met up with some friends, also serviced another 1975 VW Bug at Kerala, Heavy rains and a 650 kms road trip in a 1968 VW Bug, a journey to cherish for the lifetime.
