Your car is so special and so impeccably maintained, I beg you not to fit any locally available kits, even if you do find them (they too are extinct). Contact any of the Standard/Triumph clubs, they should be able to supply you with high quality materials.

The 1200 truimph herald , i was told has disc brakes in the front , is it true?

yes all 1200 triumphs come with front disc brakes

No! Triumph Herald 1200 estate does not have any disk breaks! All four tyres have break shoes instead. When Triumph existed, the Disk breaks were not designed, as per my knowledge and understanding. Hope this helps.

Sorry for such a late reply but just came across your post!
Actually the 1200 Triumph Heralds DID come with FRONT disc brakes from 1963 onwards:

1. Disc brakes were an option from 1963 onwards.

2. The factory also came out with "Disc brake Conversion kit" for retrofitting the brakes.

3. From 1967 onwards the 1200, 1250 and 1360 came with factory fitted disc brakes as standard fitment.
