Another Kerala job, courtesy Instagram.
My Uncles Car 1971 model Amby had been restored last year.
It was done by a mechanic, in Trivandrum who works on Ambassadors, still.
Engine and the differential were fully reconditioned, with NOS parts, which are still available in Kerala - piston has been sleeved and went back to Standard O size pistons. Running smoothly now
Some pics here
Wheel cups are still under resto process
This is the Original Colour - which had been changed over several repaints, over the years.
Hopefully it will have a new lease of life, with my uncles son in law, (recently retired shippy)
Best Regards & Drive Safe

Here's a Mark2, out of the home garage after 35 years!
A really good specimen for a restoration project.
Appears this Mark 2 is of the early 1970s era ( 1970 - 1975) from the Mark II badge placed at the boot. Earlier Mark IIs would have this badge on both the left and right fenders.

I am no sir, just 25 years of age. Compared to the vast knowledge and expertise most bhpians have, I am a complete noob so I don't really deserve the Sir tag.:D
I will try and get some more details of MRF 3943, hopefully pics of the engine bay as well. As per my friend who clicked the pics, this Mk1 has been restored painstakingly just in time for the wedding.:) |

Just referencing to this post by Mr Anjan, in the first picture of the white Ambassador mk 2, i(mage by MrAbhay Sinha), on a close observation, there appears to be a logo on the grille, which I presume was issued by Tata Steel (erstwhile TISCO). These badges were issued by TISCO as identification for parking the vehicles in offices and residential areas.
Can you please confirm, if possible whether the car belongs/ belonged to a TISCO official.
