Thank you. Is the showroom still in business?
I grew up in Kochi. There used be Geo Motors for HM and Yamaha located between Valanjambalam and MG Road. Good old memories.

This is indeed the Marikar showroom opposite Secretariat.The green contessa was a star attraction in those days.
The showroom is still there, but they sell some scooters after they discontinued the Ambassador dealership which was taken by ESSCO motors
The last Ambassador model car of Hindustan Motors with Mumbai division of Central Railway retires from service after 37 years today. Seen here with the driver Muthu Pandi Andi Nadar, who is also retiring from service. The car will be scrapped as per railway policy.
The last ever displayed price list of the various Ambassador car models available as in February 2014. I had clicked this on 24.11.2014 at M/s Austin Distributors, J.L.N. Road, Kolkata 700 026, exactly seven months after HM closed down its Uttarpara plant operations on 24.05.2014. The dealer still perhaps hoped for the company to restart its manufacturing and the Manager of the showroom, whom I spoke to had hopes for HM restarting. This was a period when the dealer was sustaining itself by undertaking servicing and repairs of the HM cars sold.
Soon within a year after all hopes were gone, they took up dealership for brand "Renault" and are now dealers for the French carmaker. The showroom is in a prime locality and they had been HM dealers for many decades.
1990 Ambassador, BMC Petrol, Column Shift
I spotted this Ambassador in Chennai. It looked like an Ambassador Mark 1 but a quick vahan database search revealed that it was registered in 1969, indicating it to be mark 2 with a mark 1 grille.
Pictured is a 2013 Ambassador in left hand drive, for export to Nigeria. I had no idea LHD versions were made, do we have any more pictures or information?

The car is an Austin A40, and probably survives. Here is a picture from maybe 20 years ago.

Those who belongs to Ranchi, might have seen this Mark 2 Ambassador. The owner wants to sell it and he claims that the car is in running condition.
