The # series is from 1971 if I recall correctly, The car has been moded though.
Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

KLE registration ended in 1969 and KLF series started and therefor you are right with the model though the car sports a Mark3 grill.

Our family had a Mark II bought new in July 1971 with regn. no. starting with 27***. So this car should be older and of course a Mark II.

Today is perhaps Landmaster Day for us. Coincidentally I received two Landmaster pictures from my friend Ashish, (the first two) while the third one has been posted on FB by friend Mr Kaleem Khan from the recent Bharatpur Rally.
Among these, BYJ 18 is a car I know since many, many years that was owned by the Late Mr D. S. Panditji. It was light moss green in its original company paint. The Hillman Minx Phase III also came in a similar shade. Later in the late 1980's, BYJ 18 got the Bayers Blue shade (Maruti 800 fame from the late 1980's) . Mr D.S. Panditji, its first owner passed away a decade or so back and the car has now left Nagpur to surface in a Rally, in its new black colour.

This was my Amby ,sadly only this snap, this was taken in 1990 I guess.
84 amby later converted to Matador 307 ,koyas seat , alloys , hella replacement head lights , bosch wipers , alternator ,power brakes etc .

The third car was up for sale until recently...dont know if it was sold. It was owned by a Gent from Punjab. Very original.. The first one was also sold if I am right from Nagpur to someone else?
An old picture from The Hindu, Hyderabad, featuring an Ambassador Mark 4 perhaps during a curfew.

Some more Ambassador pictures here:
M.K.Sanghi Group, Bombay launching its HM dealership (from the M.K.Sanghi website)- thanks to fellow bhpian r nairtvm for the link.
The above two are from Auto India
The one above is from Google images
Sir Mark Tully, the ex- BBC correspondent in India, remains ever enthusiastic and ecstatic about the Ambassador!
(The Times of India, Mumbai of 10.01.1999)

Spotted this rather nice looking Landmaster at Shil-Phata, near Mumbai.
Nashik registered, and looks like it must've been a daily driver sometime.
The body - though a bit rusty below the doors, has most brightwork intact, and lovely bumper guards - felt like stealing them!!
The interiors had velvet-clad bucket seats, and an aircon. (note the fan!!)
Parked near an auto garage - hope she's come for a restoration..

Looks restorable. And incidentally, somebody was apparently lucky to get their hands on Gazel/Herald hubcaps! :D
