Thanks very much Dr. Anjan for posting this. Was never aware of this. Do you have further details of the engine?

Joseph you are welcome!:) I also had a newspaper advertisement which I will try to locate.I think the technical specifications will be tough to get as we did not have well- circulated auto magazines then.

Saw some Ambassadors in the following link

Saw this good Amby near my office last week. Yes dieselised.

Saw this Amby OHV yesterday near Trivandrum. KLT 51**
Lots of Ambys and Fiats can be seen around Trivandrum.

We have also started a Facebook page entitled "Ambassador and Landmaster Fans, Aficionados and Owners Club of India".

Of course, without the help of teambhp, it would have been quite tough for the thread to sustain itself. We have added many teambhp pictures from the classifieds section and from this thread too, apart from the other pictures.Every addition is duly acknowledged of course, as a rule. The source is quoted.
The facebook page link is:

Saw this 1966 Amby yesterday at Alwaye, fitted with a diesel engine and converted to mark3.
First time sighting of this kind of grill insignia.

Rajeev, isn't this car modified to the Grande style? Looks like that. With the Grande style, the front grille has a wide strip and in this picture the owner has written 'Ambassador'.

Thanks,
Jose

Yes, that is true. My doubt arose by seeing the indicator lamps.

Might be a bit off-topic going by the Thread Title, but have a look here . The good ol' Ambys have made it to Jalopnik !

The Central India Vintage Automotive Association (CIVAA) organised a 170 kms (to and fro) run from Nagpur to Pench (the tiger reserve) in 21/11/ 2010. The cars are seen here. A Landmaster participated ( MHN 2001) and completed the run successfully.

This is a line up of some the CIVAA cars for the (around) Katol farmhouse run in 16th January 2011 (a nearly 90 km to and fro run), wherein my car also participated. The line up of 4 wheelers is flanked by Landmasters.

The two shapes of bumpers for the older Ambassadors (we call them Mark I). The older ones are clear derivatives of the Morris Oxford Series III, whereas the later ones sans the bumper guards are more akin to the Mark II bumpers.
