Wow! That really is a great paint job. It's really hard to come by a paint job this good. One question; any idea whether he used NC based paint or was it 2K and what company in either case?

Car is not yet got polished. They're in the process of fitting trims. According to Gopal (mechanic) my car should come out 100 times better than this.. And I only hope.

Phone camera captures so please excuse the quality. Take a close look at his finish level. There's no usage of metal paste anywhere. He takes time and produces magic.

:Shockked::Shockked: Amazing work. I wasn't amazed till i read that its still to be polished. Buffing and polishing does bring out a serious finish but this is just jaw dropping work.
Wonder what will it look like after getting detailed. Rudra ji Please do share what product was used and, if possible, procedure followed which transformed the car into mirror.

He told me ICI DUCO Polyurethane paint. Yesterday I told him to fix the sun shade which was dumped somewhere as a junk. He pulled it out and probably giving it for chrome plating. Post plating shade will be painted with the same colour leaving just one thin chrome edge to accentuate/compliment overall chrome distribution. I'll be there tomorrow again and ask him more.

One more snap here. Traction Avant is getting ready next to it.

Saw this nice Mark I. It has semaphores working too but the owner has dismantled it for fear of damage/being stolen. He still intends to do lot of work on it.

good to see the originalbumpers the first ambassador1957 does it have side valve or is it converted overhaul and good amby

WOW! that's something you don't see everyday. Original bumpers but the amby monogram on the bonnet is missing. The color is bad too.

He was in a bit of a hurry, couldn't ask about the engine. I was drooling about the semaphores and forgot about the engine stupid: He did mention that he wants to change the color...

I think this should be a fit picture for the thread. Here is my Landmaster shining, displaying the mirror image of an Ambassador Mark 3 !

First cut of my Mark 2 coming up! The painting is complete

Just look at this folks, i saw a "fake" Jay D landmaster. The owner has tried a blatant copy of "the real thing" and the outcome is quite gaudy by my reckoning...

Coming up well. Why don't you remove the beeding clamps on the fender, the headlight domes(whatever they are called) and stuff like that.

Brand Jay D is so famous now that it created lookalikes!
Here is an old Ambassador traced in Delhi near the place I was staying till yesterday.
The owner is too touchy about the car and its soothing to see that he values this car more than their Audi parked outside. The Ambassador is quite original with its Delhi number (DL --- --) and the owner has tried to keep it as such, though some rusting and the rear Mark3 tail light covers are evident.

Please see some more snaps. The original tailight lens and the front steel beeding for the glass has to be fixed and the car is done.I have all the original meters but, will fix them later.

Although black would have been the best color, the grey color was selected to have a period look and also due to the fact that i have 2 amby's in black color and having another one more will make it boring for me..
Thanks

Nice to see the original ignition and the other switches and Marikar Motors plate on the board. True this colour gives a period look.
Retaining the steering column mounted gear shift would have been better.
