:OTI had this weird experience when I was schooling at Coonoor. I had a friend of mine who had this Jawa (no number plates though!). I rode it and at times it just gets the wrong gear or something but it goes backward even as I accelerate! It was tough time initially when that happened, albeit enjoyable thereafter!stupid:

Hi. Champion, I will give it off if I am getting good rates for the two, the Jawa was been asked till 25k by a collector in Kerala, Yezdi has ready buyer now till 8k, lots of the effort and time has gone into maintaining these beauties, so I am waiting for the best deal.

Your Jawa's colour is so cute I fell in love with it. The carrier behind the bike is great you can travell long distance. The tank rubber seems to be from Yezdi's, but Jawa's did come with a tank rubber in one particular model not sure which year. I liked your bikes and do keep them healthy and for any help I am there.

The carrier has saved us many times when been hit by other vehicles in city traffic, the rubber pads were added by dad long back, he wanted his Jawa to look different in early 80s.

Did you say "your dad's" then your are not selling the jawa please. If I were in your place then the jawa is most valuable than anything in my life apart from that your dad has given it a different look so it's always special. What do you say Mehul?

Lovely bike. I would kill for those levers and meter. Wonder why he changed the rear shox when he kept most of the other stuff. Those '62 model shox are quite impossible to get. This is the second MYB jawa Im seeing in its original paint.

I will replicate the kudos back to the owner and tell to keep the bike as it is. As now I have known, would tell the owner to find the original rear shocks and make the bike complete.

Another thing missing is the throttle?? The original was destroyed by uncompetent mechanics.

This one reminds me of a '64 model which I'd seen in the 3rd quarter of 2008, this bike is almost same to the T, hence curious.. Unfortunately, I didn't have a cam at hand back then nor do I remember the rgn number, it was up for sale then. On that one, the crank covers didn't seem to have been buffed ever, even 'OLEJ' was visible on the clutch cover, so made me wonder if its the same one.

New replicas of that throttle are available on some Czeck websites, I guess.

This is one I came across while looking for a NE part. The front mudguard, rear mudguard, rear shocks & the rear footrest rubbers aren't original though. JAWA embossed on the tank is in lovely shape.

Don't know. The '64 one was available with the owner for 22K and this one was available with a dealer for 110K.

I am working towards getting my Jawa 250 (1970) restored. Team BHPians, could you please help me in sourcing a Jawa speedometer (preferably MPH)? Thanks in advance!

Lotuseater: The 1970 came with a regular black-and-white speedo in KPH and not MPH, in case you're going for originality and all that. The MPH speedo would be nigh impossible to find here. Try eBay or something. Where in Pune are you getting work done?
