If you can grab those, then they can be welded on and your job will be much easier.

Except the engine, rest of the the parts removed from the car is kept intact and even the tail light lenses and cut top is available with the person owning the car now.

IMHO also that is a reasonable price!

But if I might ask, why another 'project'? Not feeling enough (yet) with the adventures you (we!) are having with your vauxhall??

These American cars are getting really rare on our Indian roads and this could be a nice opportunity to pick one up, store it, get most of the parts and then restore. Even if I failed to get an engine I think this looks just brilliant to let go

In that case you can go for it and start the body resto as you wait and hunt around for an engine. You're not gonna be a concourse winner with that engine but is that your intention?

If you are lucky you will find one on a car with the body totally rusted out.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this- in that case, there is this older ('55) plymouth belvedere that I'd earlier mentioned as well (even posted pics. in another thread), junking away in the garage where my cars are getting done up. It'd been dieselised as well, but atleast its still complete bodily (ie. not chopped open) and definitely restorable. BUT definitely not cheap I'm afraid (last he came down to was 85k!)

The car is part of a lovely collection, one car is used everyday to go to work in South Bombay in rotation. A couple of Buicks have been similarly spotted elsewhere on the forum, plus his Banswada 20hp Rolls, Silver Wraith and 190SL were featured at the Cartier show. Other lovely cars include a 59 Chevy, Armstrong Siddeley and an early very large Fiat amongst others.

I had the opportunity to meet up with this gentleman once.. He has a fabulous collection of mint condition cars, mostly American except one or two. He drives a different classic to work every day !! And boy, are they all awesomely maintained ! Saw his merc 190 SL convertible today - in immaculate silver with red upholstery. We could actually run a thread on his collection.
