Re: Obscure Vintage & Classic Scooters in India

This Salsbury scooter was actually found with a Bhangarwalla, and its survival is good fate. Probably the only one in India, probably came through the American Embassy.
I suggest that the thread, if it is to grow, be renamed Oscure Vintage and Classic Scooters AND Motorcycles.
The I can finally contribute positively with value addition to t-bhp!

Cheers harit

Well I think you may yet be able to contribute with photographs of scooters now scrapped. From your vast collection of photographs :-)
But on a serious note I think a dedicated non Lambretta, non Vespa scooter thread is definately called for and addition of motorcycles will dilute the thread. After all finding a NSU scooter in India for us scooter enthusiasts is a lot more valuable than an NSU bike. So please let's stick to scooters here. You can have a separate thread for obscure motorcycles. We need to specialize threads if we have to create meaningful easy to refer information in the vintage and classic section. Otherwise stuff just gets lost.

An Aravalli scooter exported, and slated for restoration.

A period Indian advertisement for the scooter. Wonder if any more survive. I recall seeing a rough one in West Bengal.
