Re: 1930+/- Buick 7 passenger Restoration - Calcutta

Good comments from sharp eyes.

As mentioned the car was pushed a little for The Statesman Rally and in speaking with Sanjay, there are a number details that need to be finished before the car is ready to be delivered to his customer.
I'll be updating this thread.

He starting a few new projects that look very interesting, a 1919 Minerva and by the looks of it a late Erskine sedan,

Re: 1930+/- Buick 7 passenger Restoration - Calcutta

By the looks of it, it's in worse shape than the Buick was.
Will be in this week, had a small incounter with a bus last night and need some body work.

Re: 1930+/- Buick 7 passenger Restoration - Calcutta

Traffic, for the most part, moves slowly here so the damage was on my left rear door and fender. Not serious but will get it fixed plus a few other "kisses" hopefully end of next week. Me, I'm just trying to practise some detachment!!

I had considered a Concours restoration way back and glad I didn't as I've been using daily with all the abuse.

Thanks for the concern.

Re: 1930+/- Buick 7 passenger Restoration - Calcutta

I spent some time at Sanjay's works today to take photos of the Buick just before being shipped to Orissa.

What an exceptional restoration that I have been able to follow these past three years. I started up quickly and had such a smooth powerful sound!
I had hoped to have a ride in it over to the Tolly Club to take some "professional" photos but time didn't permit.

Enjoy!

Still having problems with the size of the files, so be patient -

Truly wonderful restoration. Love the engine, so neat, even the spark plugs are covered. What a wonderful car.

Thanks John for sharing

The paint job was First Class! I noticed my clear reflection on one of the photos of the rear end.

For those of you who have not met Sanjay or seen his photo,
He's the one standing beside the Buick and in another shot of the 29 Baby Austin that is also going to the same home.

Thanks for sharing the pics John. Really great restoration, inside and out. I too have seen the car in the Ghosh workshop when it was completely stripped, with serious work to do. The transformation is truly remarkable.

That Austin really looks neat, best one I've seen so far.

Re: 1930+/- Buick 7 passenger Restoration - Calcutta

Here's another pre-war Buick (1931) that hasn't been featured on the forum earlier. Anyone knows about this car & the owner?
