Hi,
The car you show is a Morris Minor, 1948 and above. He wanted a Morris just like his family had in the days of old, a picture of which he had posted in the Nostalgia thread and reproduced below.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintag...s-cars-32.html post 480.

These cars are still around even today.

Cheers harit

Yes Harit,you are right
I got the news of one such today, its fully restored,in wounderful condition.I will post the pics tomorrow.
But,unfortunately,I can not buy them now,for two reasons:
1.West Bengal RTO what is going to do with older cars more than 15 years is not crystal clear, atleast to me.
2.The guy selling this one is asking for nearly 10Lakhs Rs.

Thank you Pavan for your picture and effort-as Harit said, that is Morris minor,it is quite available and in budget among the vintages.

He probably means that RTO may not transfer the vehicle to him till the 15 year rule is clarified. Right Abhishek?
And please post a pic of the car you have seen if possible.

Well you don't need to transfer a 1930 model car.How much would you drive the car? There is no problem regarding all this in west bengal.there are many cars in calcutta with their original numbers you don't even have to transfer the vehicle to your name just have a clear sale purchace dead and that is more than enough. You do not need to have any road tax as well.So the only worry for you for etting the car is reducing the price.

Giving the answers pointwise:
1.No,the Morris is not from kolkata, its from Pune.
2.I will post the images tomorrow.
3.Mr.Indrajit Sirkar and all the readers,it is just my personal desicion, for now,not to buy vintage cars for some months in W.B.,after the implementation of phasing out of older commercial vehicles more than 15years Law,in Kolkata, west Bengal, just to wait and see what would be West Bengal Govt.'s next step regarding private cars.
I can not write/spread in a public forum, any rumour that is heard by me.
I was just explaining why cant I buy now that very Morris to Mr.Harit.
I think,Mr.Indrajit I can explain you.
Please do not misunderstand me.

Hi Abhishek,
i didn't mean to offend you at all.I just thought that i could help you with anything regarding the RTO problem.I just gave a suggestion and was just doing what i was here for i.e. help someone from what i know and learn something from what someone else knows.I think i hurt your feelings and i am very sorry for that.

Thank you

Right Mr.Harit.
Yes,I will post it tomorrow,I can not do it today just for some technical faults.

@Mr.Indrajit. Yes,that is a way,but,I want to buy that car just like a car,not like a 1:1 diecast model!
Why I am saying this,Mr.Harit will probably understand,as we had some conversations at that forum as mentionedby Mr.Harit.
I have some emotions behind it,I like to see my fathers name on the registration paper, thats it.

No,Mr.Sirkar,I just clarified the matter, you have not hurted me at all.You know the current political situation here,in west bengal, and as a non political person I just want to clarify it to all.
You know,we love vintages, for many different reasons. Many people who lead us,may not understand that.

This is a pre- 38 tourer with wired wheels after that they had solid wheels, One was offered to me in mumbai about 2 yrs a ago asking price 1.75l in need of complete restoration. They are charming cars and I prefer the wired wheel ones.
