Nice to hear you're OK, Steeroid. During my biking days. I'd a hi-speed head-on accident with a mini-lorry that was coming the wrong way on a blind bend. Thanked my decision to voluntarily wear a helmet long before the rule came into force in BLR.

Sad to hear about the fall. But, its good that nothing happened to you or the bike. Would have been a different story if the bike had fairings!

I too live today coz I had a helmet when I met with accident.( hit a road block, a big trunk of tree @ Thenmala on way to Madurai on a bullet; thanks to hartal guys who blocked the road) . But I had to drink 2 bottle of some ayurvedic contraption ( with liquor added

I can understand. I met with a bad accident in 2005 and my head was saved thanks to my helmet. My dad and mom never let me start riding a 2-wheeler wihtout a helmet. That night, it saved my life.

Of course, I wasnt in a position to celebrate I spent the next 3 months in bed thanks to a broken leg and a broken wrist

good to hear u r ok. backpack definitely plays a wonderful part of saving ur back if u carry it. in my biking days i always kept the backpack & it did save me on a couple of occasions.

Hey Steer,

Really lucky & smart combination of helmet + backpack + suit + jacket !! And also the fact that you were just starting from the signal and weren't going too fast (although i bet you blasted off the line and left all the other vehicles behind, which also was a saving grace!)

Modular (that is, these type of) helmets were once considered to be weaker than full-face helmets.

However, these helmets now come with decent DOT and/or Euro ratings. This particular series from Nolan comes highly recommended for its ability to withstand impact, comfort and convenience. The only issues that I find with it are (1) slightly higher than acceptable wind noise and (2) visor fogs up pretty fast if you dont use the tear-off fog visor.

AND gloves - just found that they're torn at the sides and the seams and some of the padding have come off.

Good to hear that you escaped with no external injuries. Scratches, torn jackets et all can be repaired or replaced, but not one's life.

As everyone else seems to be asking - hows the back doing.
