Thanks though for sharing update on the alternate route via Solapur. I plan to go to Latur and totally hate bad roads of Barshi route. Would select your suggested route for peaceful drive.
Thanks for sharing Sameer. Hope you have a good drive.

I am assuming you took the Ahmednagar - Jamkhed - Manjarsumbha - Beed route? The road problems are usually post Manjarsumbha to Ambajogai, and someone told me the roads around Kaij are not good. On a separate note, the Ambajogai to Parli route is in a very bad shape.

While I took the Ahmednagar - Beed route, I did not go through Jamkhed. Instead, after about 12 kms of taking right from Ahmednagar, I encountered a slight right and slight left both of which were marked Beed while right was marked Jamkhed. The road taking left was butter smooth and devoid of any traffic upto Beed. More details in the post here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post4537702

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

Thanks Sameer, sounds like a good alternative going through this route! Hopefully someone will post about the Beed to Ambajogai route. I know for sure that the Parli to Ambajogai road is very bad, takes over an hour for 24 kms!

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

It is that time of the year again when we visit Ambajogai.

Has anyone visited Ambajogai recently from Pune ? I am looking for updates on road conditions and toll - if fastag is working or do we have to pay cash.

Google shows routes through Tembhurni and Ahmednagar. Some people told me that it is better to travel till Solapur using the highway and then go to Ambajogai via Yedshi.

I will of course put in my updates after my trip.

.
Yesterday only I travelled to Ambojagai.
1) Pune _tembhurni 4 lane toll road, no issue, fastag works
2) Tembhurni_kurduwadi_Barshi city crossing_ yedshi . 2 lane recently relaid fast road. Absolutely no issue. Cruise at 80+.
3) Yedshi_dhoki . Rough patches 2 lane road, no potholes, no issue, can cruise at 60+ easily.
4) Dhoki _murud. 2 lane good road, no issue, can cruise at 80+.
5) From murud onwards, you can take direct Ambajogai 45+ km internal road which I did yesterday. Country road, no potholes, winding road, no facilities. Take this road only in daylight. Otherwise you have option to go via Latur.
Murud _latur 2 lane good road.
Latur_ Ambajogai 4 lane toll road.

6) From Barshi, there is another route to Ambajogai via yermala_kalamb. As road widening is still in progress, don't ever try this route currently. I did mistake yesterday to travel on this road for onward journey. Don't take yermala_ kalamb route.

I don't have Ahmednagar route details.

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

Has anyone taken the route from Pune to Ambajogai or have latest information of road condition on this route? Planning to drive them tomorrow to attend to family emergency. I will provide my feedback once I am back.

Google maps shows the Ahmadnagar route as advised by Sameer earlier. While the route mentioned by Ashish above through Tembhurni -> Barshi is not that much more in terms of time taken.

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

Dear All,
Just back from Ambajogai over the weekend, below is the road condition:

Took the following route both ways:
Pune-Ahmadnagar-Dhamangaon-Dongarkini-Patoda-Manjarsumba-Kaij-Ambajogai and was in my Baleno.

* Pune to Ahmadnagar is usual road with bottlenecks in the Wagholi area vicinity, don't think this is going away soon, its a royal mess.
* After Nagar, the cantonment road is narrow, so if a truck is ahead, you will have a single file with almost no overtaking opportunity.
* After the cantonment area, the road is patched up and some repair work was in progress but it is smooth sailing till Dongarkini.
* After the right turn from Dongarkini, the road progressively becomes bad with almost moon surface on a steep ghat section. However, it should not be a problem for any car with careful driving and the bad stretch itself is less than a kilometer.
* Once you cross this, you hit smooth cement roads, however, till Manjarsumba, there are small sections of unmade road between the cement roads, so be careful.
* After Manjarsumba, apart from Kaij town area, rest of the road is most amazing cement road, however, as there is no divider, you need to be always alert.

Overall, really happy with the road condition and once they complete the cement sections, it will be an enjoyable drive.
Started from Pune at 11 am, reached 6:15 with 1 hour break.
Started back at 2 PM and reached at 8:50 PM with 15 min break (got stuck in 2-3 jams after Ranjangaon)

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

You are probably better off doing Pune-Solapur-Tuljapur-Ausa-Latur-Ambajogai.

Pune-Solapur-Tuljapur is excellent 4-lane.
Tuljapur-Ausa-Latur had a near complete concrete 4-lane in October 2019. Looking at AP's update above. The entire stretch is 4-laned.

Other option is to continue on Solapur-Aurangabad till Manjarsumba and do Manjarasumba-Ambajogai.

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

A couple of days back one of my colleagues traveled from Pune to Ambejogai.
His update is as follows -
Route taken: Pune - Ahmednagar- Jamkhed - Ashti - Patoda - Manjarsumba - Kej - Ambejogai.
Of which Jamkhed to Patoda was full of potholes/pot-wells and the rest entire stretch was butter-smooth.
Especially Patoda to Ambejogai was a 4 lane one.

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

I would suggest go with Solapur Latur road, though distance is slightly more you actually save time due to excellent cemented road for most of the stretch. I travelled before Duserra to Kingaon which is few kms post Ambejogai (on Ahmedpur road), Pune Kingaon was via Ahmednagar. Major issue is high traffic on Nagar road and jams in Nagar due to flyover construction takes quite a lot time. Also road was not in good condition for few kms post Nagar (too much of patch work and big pot holes) and also no good option for food breaks. Return was via Latur which is in excellent condition, also you can combine it with Tuljapur Temple visit (like I did) and this route has lot of good restaurants.

Any idea how are roads between Ambejogai temple and Parli temple?

Complete cemented roads, just small patch of 50-100m not laid on outskirts of Ambejogai.

Re: Pune to Ambajogai : Route Queries

Done with the trip and loved the roads. As you said last 100m while entering Ambejogai is in bad shape but overall its the best route even though a bit longer than through Ahmadnagar.

Did Pune-Solapur in 4 hours and Solapur-Ambejogai in 3 hours (Driving time). Took 1.5 hrs break for breakfast (Kanchan Veg - Uruli Kanchan) and lunch (Hotel Annapurna Pure Veg - Tuljapur-Ausa rd).

Took same route while coming back and had a stop at Pulgam in Solapur for shopping and then hotel Vasudev on highway for lunch.
