My recommendation is to avoid this route early morning or late evening as few sections pass through narrow ghat areas, reserve forest and remote villages. Those roads are not well lit and conditions are also not good.

I am planning a early morning start from Chennai and reach by 10: 30 am and leave Narsapura by 3 pm
To visit Narasapura, i don't think there is any value in entering NE7 BCE for short distance.
You are better off to stick with regular Chittoor-Mulbagal-Kolar Narasapura , rather than coming via Pallikonda-Gudiyatham- Reserved forest area - V.Kota and joining Kolar road again.

Thanks. I will do that.

Since I was driving that way thought I could try. Is the road from Ranipet to Chittor closed?

The road from Ranipet via Vallimalai - Ponnai - Chittoor is also fairly decent. A small stretch of about 5 to 6 km as at the TN - AP border is average.

Re: The Bangalore - Chennai Expressway

On a recent drive to Kurudumale Ganesha Temple, I took the expressway, exited at Sundarapalya, turned right towards Venkatagiri Kota (left goes towards Bethamangala) and immediately turned left onto the “NH75” which in this section is a undivided carriageway that is in shambles at many places and in about 15km, merges onto the proper NH75 at Mulbagal. We then took the road towards Kurudumale from the NH 75. This needed a U turn because an earlier turn off could not be taken as there was road work in progress.

Do you mean from Expressway exit at Sundarapalaya to V-Kota is not worth taking? Is it bad?

No.
I turned in the direction of the V Kota road (right turn at the junction once you get out of the toll plaza complex at Sundarapalya), then a left turn in about a Km or so onto the road marked “NH75” on gmaps. Had I not taken that left turn, I would have gone towards V Kota.

The circled road in Red is the one I took to head towards Mulbagal. The Bangalore - Chennai Expressway-img_6055.jpeg

I understand now. So you exited towards Mulbagal. If you see the new NH75 numbering is Mangalore-Bangalore-Hoskote-Mulabagal-V Kota-Guguyatam-Katpadi.

This is one the reasons ( V-Kota-Katpadi being a highway), Gudiyatham is getting a bypass on this highway.

Re: The Bangalore - Chennai Expressway

Forgot to mention this in my earlier post.
One cannot drive further on the expressway past the Sundarapalya exit (marked Bethamangala and Venkatagiri Kota). The main carriageway has been blocked there and the remaining completed section of the expressway about 20 km or so isn’t accessible.

Re: The Bangalore - Chennai Expressway

Scanning satellite imagery was thinking the AP section work status is in good state, after watching Kiran Tummala videos quite clear that there's lots left to do. Even June 2026 completion would be wishful thinking, let's see.

And my blood pressure started fluctuating after getting to know about the elevated section. Knowing our driving senses, authorities will have to take extra precautions in rules and its implementation for this section.

Re: The Bangalore - Chennai Expressway

I used this route last week to attend a wedding in Ramakuppam district.

Being an empty road, one could drive peacefully at a constant 120km/h. The lanes are narrow hence I would not go too fast. It reminded me of a well-made replica of the NICE road. The road is elevated with a dip in the middle. There were some morons parked on the extreme right, relieving themselves in the dip.

Once we had left the highway at Bethamangala, we followed the incomplete section in parallel. There is a lot to be completed. June 2026 is a miracle.

Once the road formally opened, the highway would not be as fast due to two lanes and the right lane hoggers.

Took the expressway today from Bangalore. Destination was Kanchipuram.
Gudiyattam bypass was not open yet. Had to go inside town. Took about 15 mins to cross.
Entered expressway at Hoskote at 7am. Exited near Sundarapalya at 7.50am. Very good roads. Minimal traffic. Mostly cruised at 100kmph.

Video while entering expressway at Hoskote
(Pardon the poor lane discipline, I was overawed by the first world level construction)

There is also a plan to 4-lane Sundarapalaya to Mulbagal section of NH75. It's still a plan. Let's see how it goes.

I drove on this Sundarapalaya to Mulbagal road (Marked NH75 on GMaps) after exiting the BCE. I didnt see any board or milestone with NH 75 written on them. I saw many milestones with MDR marked on them. Seems that one segment of NH 75 ends at Mulbagal and next segment starts from Venkatagiri kota.
