Folks, My friend travelling to Ooty this weekend in KA car, Any latest update on Mysore - Ooty route?

A friend was going to Kerala, there was a road block by protestors near Nanjangud. You might face similar problems. Better try kanakpura - gundlupet - ooty

But then again I heard KA cars are being stopped at Bandipur and not allowed to cross the border.

This week is Dussera week. Brace for insane traffic.

Need to get to Calicut on Saturday. Planning to take Kanakapura-Malavalli-Kollegal-Gundulpet route to avoid Mysore road and Dasara filled Mysore area.

Any update on the road conditions on this stretch?
Also, is this route impacted by Cauvery agitations?

Chamrajnagar to gundlepet is patchy with work happening. Rest of the route is all good. At this time don't see impact due to the cauvery agitations. With dusserha season important for everyone, things should remain ok. But better to keep a watch on the news related to the same.

Unfortunately yes. KA cars are being stopped from crossing into TN at every border checkpost. In fact my friend was turned away from Hosur this morning, he drove down to Nanjangud and then again road block from agitation - although this was very unexpected.

If your friend is taking the Kanakpura route, please ask him to check with Mandya Traffic Police facebook page, they promptly post updates if any road block is present in that area. Once he crossed chamarajnagar there should not be any agitation.

Feedback shared on HVK FB group. As suggested, you might be better off taking Bagalur - Salem - Mettupalaym for the onward journey and coming back via usual route.

Planning to ride from Bangalore to Ooty on Sat (8/10/16). KA reg bike. Is it open now?

While going to Ooty on 2nd Oct - I took longer route i.e., Sarjapur - Bagaluru - Hosur - Salem - Avinashi - Mettupalayam - Ooty. In entire journey and my drive within Ooty was peaceful and did not see any other KA vehicle in Ooty. Everyone was curious seeing KA vehicle and asked if KA vehicles are being allowed now.

I came back from Ooty to Bangalore yesterday (5th Oct) and crossed Masinagudi/ Bandipur Border around 12 Noon. As of that moment, TN Vehicles were not being allowed into KA and vice versa. Since mine was a KA vehicle entering into KA from TN side, I was allowed after hearing someone earful from an TN cop saying I took a risk by being in TN with a KA vehicle. Took Gundlupet, Chamrajnagar, Kanakapura, Bangalore route and did not want to venture through Mandya.
