Hey sorry for the extremely late reply. I am not sure of any hotel being bang on the highway but there's a new hotel called golden tulip which is about 4 - 5 km inside from the highway and it's on some kind of deal. Check Groupon the website and you ll be able to see the details. Inside the city there are hotels this is the only one I feel maybe appropriate as per the requirements.

My friend from Nashik is attempting a 'Bharat pariktama' in Nano starting 15th August. It is an attempt to create record of journey by car in single country.

I wish him success.

He is also looking for participant in his car..

His travel plan..

I wish your friend safety. In a nano, this can be strenous and over-ambitious.

I wish to know if it was actually done in a Nano or was it just planned?

Theoretically a nano might do it, even considering the route includes ladakh!!
But practically it would take about 100 days for a Nano to cover this map.

We are planning a similar trip, but covering Tawang, Bhutan and Nepal in September -October 2015. We are using a Thar and a Bolero yet we are not sure if these cars can endure such long trips
