Planning for a 3 days and 2 nights trip to vagamon & gavi. It's going to be 6 guys in all. Any suggestions on decent places for stay and food will be appreciated as this is the first time all of us are visiting these places.
Thanks,
Naresh

Guys,
Any good 3 star hotels to stay at near the Bangalore airport? Friend wants to just sleep over the night and head out the next mrning on a connecting flight.
I guess 3k would be a reasonable budget for him. He likes these business hotels kinda thing.

Hi,
This query goes to the Bangalore guys (to others as well familiar with Bangalore..). I need to take my father to Narayan Hrudayalaya, Bangalore for treatment for some heart related issues. Tentative plan is to go during the latter half of next month based on confirmation from the hospital. Now, I am not at all familiar with Bangalore. I've heard that Narayan Hrudayalaya is located kinda outskirts. So, my query is - are there any good options to stay near the hospital? I'm looking for something like serviced apartments or guest houses. Nothing fancy and expensive as we might have to stay for an extended duration depending upon the line of treatment. However, the place needs to be clean and not like those dark, dirty guest houses usually found near hospitals and temple towns. Info on even good, clean hotels are also welcome. Budget is max Rs. 2000 per day. (Though I think serviced apartments should not cost that much).

There are two good ones on that range on Hosur road.
- Ibis
http://www.ibis.com
- Keys

The hospital is about 10-15 km from these hotels but its on the straight highway. So there should not be much of a delay.

I doubt getting these hotels at 2K. Better to check on serviced apts since the duration can be long. Ramee gueatline, The Lark etc too should be on the higher side.
Any recent feedback on Jade? May be cheaper than others.

Thanks, Guys. But, 10-15 kms would be too far IMO. I was looking for something at walking distance or at least Auto - able distance from the hospital. Also, since the duration could be long, I'm also not averse to those stay and self cook apartments / guest houses as well (if such accommodation is available around that area, that is). Is the hospital in a very desolate area and I'd have to commute long distances every day?

I agree. But if you book in advance you may get a good deal within the range. Hence I suggested.

Since the hospital is on the highway, I doubt if you can get Auto and also because its outside city. As @coolclouds mentioned you can look at Jade. Its much closer.
There is one more called Sai Vishram. Its just 2.5 km from the hospital.

The price I think would be higher. You may want to check this too.

I had already gone through the link, but the information there seems to be outdated as couple of ph numbers are not reachable. BTW, the e inn Hotel mentioned in the link seems to be the same one as the Saivishram Hotel that Ampere has mentioned above. I have noted this place as a possibility. Apart from that, the Cauvery Guest house in the link seems to be owned by the hospital themselves as per unconfirmed info from another friend and would be mostly occupied as per him. (Though I'm not sure...) So, I'm trying to find out some alternatives.

The Keys is an excellent option.I have stayed there on 4-5 different occassions and I have paid up between 1700-1900 with bf for double occupancy.Makemytrip usually offers very competitive rates for this hotel.Ofcourse this is at a 10km distance from Narayana Hrudyalaya which would mean hiring a cab.Ibis is only a namesake budget hotel, rates are very steep there-upwards of 3500 a night.
You could look at staying at serviced apartments near Electronics City.A friend recently stayed at this Serviced Apartment and advised its an excellent place.
http://www.living.indigostripes.com/gallery.html Its well within your budget and comes with a kitchen as well and should hardly be 5kms to the hospital..Its situated in a self contained apartment.
My cousin did have some extended treatment at NH and had to stay near the hospital for around 5 days and IMO,the stay facilities near the hospital are pretty sad-most of them are the lodge type and unclean types(unless things have drastically changed in the past 8months or so).The Jades did not match upto expectations of a clean place to stay and they ended up stayin at Keys
