The shortest seems to be Ooty-Gudalur-Bathery. Have no idea how roads around TN-KL border have been over last few years around Waynad. Never went that way for some time now.

I am planning to take coimbatore-hasanur-gundulupet-muthanga route while going and come back via gudalur-ooty-coimbatore. Hope all the roads are open now.

Thats the standard highway option. It should be the safest of all.

Hi TBHP, I'm planning to travel to Wayanad from Coimbatore. I'm planning to take the Coimbatore - Hasanur - Chamarajnagar - Gundlupet - Sulthan Bathery route on the onward journey and return via the Sulthan Bathery - Gudalur - Ooty - Coimbatore route.

How is this route plan for a family of four ( 2 adults and 2 kids) in terms of road condition and options for food and rest?

I also had some doubts regarding the status of the Dhimbam Ghat Road due to conflicting reports about closures and such.
