Mysore, Bandipur and Masinagudi make for some of the best drives of Bangalore.

You get good roads to stretch your legs on Banglaore - Mysore highway.

Dude if that is the case then many people have told many places which are more than 150kms.
Start little bit early(1 hour early) and eveything will be covered. It is not that it shouold be 150kms dot. Some buffer has to be there. and the places which i have told can be done in 1 day(no offence)

Buffer of 20-30 km is ok. But beyond that would would mean rushing which sort of spoils the fun. A leisurely weekend drive is what I had in mind with a possibility of spending 5 or 6 hours at the destination.

Do add more as and when you can think of one. There must also be some lesser known places and even could be just 60-70 kms from Bangalore.

Tiruvannamalai is about 200KM from BLR. Worth a weekend visit. You can also enjoy the ruins of Gingee and the Sathanur dam.
