Pune Mahabaleshwar route

Cam back Sunday morning from a very comforting trip to Mahabaleshwar!

Roads from Pune to Mahabaleshwar okay (6/10).

What I was not aware of is that there is a separate vehicle entry/Pollution entry fee/tax for two and four Wheeler for Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. Plus you have to shell out entry fee of Rs. 10 on two different locations.

For the amount of money charged, the roads in Mahabaleshwar are nothing to write about, you'll find intermittent bad patches.

I am planning to write a small travelogue, by this weekend.

We're a group of 7 riding to Mahabaleshwar. We plan to camp somewhere and have our own tents and other equipment. The plan is to reach on the 24th of Jan. What spots would you guys suggest to set up camp? A google maps link to the location would be very helpful.
