My In-Laws will be driving down from Chandigarh to Noida on this Thursday/Friday. Any idea what route should they take to avoid getting stuck in traffic?

Which part of Noida? They should come past Rajghat, onto Inner Ring Road & then take Mayur Vihar I guess. Also depends on the timing as the bulk of the Games traffic would be headed towards JLN Stadium & then back from there.

Lane restrictions would be in force between 8 am & 8 pm. Apparently, motorists will be alerted by a Siren on the motorcycles that will be escorting the games traffic - the minute you hear the siren, you are expected to move out of the way (if you are in the Games lane)

Capital may see heavy traffic on roads having CWG lanes

New Delhi, Sep 25 (PTI) The road stretches which have exclusive Commonwealth Games lanes are likely to see heavy traffic from tomorrow as athletes are scheduled to visit practice venues spread across the city.

"To give facilitation to Games related traffic, exclusive Games Lane will be maintained from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on certain stretches of roads in Delhi from tomorrow," Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg said today.

These lanes will be from Games Village, NH-24, turn left Ring Road upto Barapullah flyover, 4th Avenue, Lodhi Road, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ata Turk Marg and Panchsheel Marg.

"The exclusiveness of Games Lane on this stretch will be maintained from tomorrow up to October 16," Garg said.

In addition to the above stretch, additional routes may also come for operation of exclusive lane from the dates to be intimated later.

@Abeer::For Noida enter Delhi, Come to Ring Road, after ISBT the Ring Road is now Ring Road bypass from Hanuman Setu flyover, then on the Bypass take left to the Geeta Colony Bridge and turn right after the bridge, come straight to ITO chungi underpass, Games Village, Akshardham flyover, Mayur Vihar Flyover and then Noida border. Proceed to Noida.

Blue Lane will be only between Metcafe T-point till Geeta Colony bridge after that your side of road will not have Blue lane, yes expect Media OB vans parked opposite Games village.

That part of RR and RRB is fairly wide and traffic personnel will be posted, so I personally dont expect heavy traffic.

Which sector are they heading to?

You'll have to take Mathura Road-Modi Mill-Maa Anandmoyee Marg (even though there is a dedicated Games lane).
