Fiat Adventure or Fiesta or NHC

Hi all,

First post from this side and I hope this one thread should solve my dilemma!! I am currently scouting for a car in the range of 6-7 lacs (give-take some more). I initially decided on Fiesta 1.6 and then switched to NHC. However, I consider myself to be a "spirited" driver and so am not very confident of NHC's dynamics at high speed. (we are not talking about NHC VTEC here). Not to mention it just doesnt have the punch :(
Plus I have always liked Fiat Adventure (for its budge looks, to start with). However, I have not driven it yet and so am not sure how good or bad is it. And while I am not a FE based buyer, any idea how much does Adv guzzle?

So I have three cars namely, NHC, Fiesta 1.6 and Fiat Adventure. Am single so no considerations like space for family or rear leg room etc. Just want a good car to drive. Can fellow BHPians help me out?

Cheers

The NHC is more fuel efficient but as you said it does lack that punch.
Why dont you check out the Baleno before deciding anything as it has power but is still fuel efficient.
Dont know about adventure but the palio 1.6 is damn powerful but still returns a milage af around 10 or 11

Adventure is all attitude.... its a wonderful car. India first proper estate car in that price range... all others are saloon-made-station wagons with no changes made to the car.
Wait and see how TATA Fiat alliance shapes up... if its good then go right ahead and buy the Adventure else Fiesta 1.6 SXi.
Honda city is a great car without heart n soul of one.

Honda city is all shine and moans where it needs to whine.......

Palio & Adventure are fentastic VFM cars. However, I would wait to see how the honeymoon between the tatas and fiat works out, if you have the time, ........ it would'd'nt be nice to be sandwitched and left holding the bag if they have a lover's tiff ........

Try out the Fusion as the price has come way down...... has a spirited engine and lots of other things going for it..... take a test drive and decide.

My heart is stuck on the Adventure. I really love the butch looks and the attitude that comes with the vehicle. I am waiting to garner in enough money so that I can place my order. Also, I will wait for the dust to settle down on the Tata-Fiat alliance. I am planning to watch for some time how this alliance unfolds.

If I were to recommend something among the ones you have chosen, you very well know what I would recommend. Do let us know your decision.

If not considering NHC vtec then forget NHC for performance.

Ford fiesta 1.6 is pretty good on performance and ride comfort and so is adventure. the choice resides on whether your want an estate or sedan.

the interiors of fiat are a bit old now while fiesta's interiors are new. Also expect ford to give more mileage. But fiat is more solid and maybe quicker than ford. Also fiat looks better than ford from outside.

I would not vouch for the NHC in front of the Fiesta and Adventure. I would prefer the adventure any day.

Reasons:-

Its cheaper. 5.32 Exshowroom.

Has a better engine 1.6L DOHC.

Tata Deal has made service a no problem affair.

ABS/Airbag is available.

Most Importantly the way it looks. 4 fogs and those pirellis and a bull bar perfect.

was gonna post NHC. but at 5.2lac, Fiat rules.

if tata and fiat had made the deal of a.s.s. last sept, I would have gone for a Palio :(

Well there is no doubt that FIAT ADVENTURE is the best package amongst others here bcoz -

- SUV image
- price factor (way less than all)
- 100 BHP italian engine which makes a racing machine like sound.
- less maintenance compared to the FORDs
- and now the reliability backed by TATA

Trust me you dont need to wait any further ... i mean some guys saying that wait till the honeymoon is over .... had FIAT been not serious about the Indian market they wouldnt have gone for this unusual arrangement with TATA to tap the Indian market and would have left India good 2 years ago.

So do what the new slogan for Adventure says - CUT LOOSE.

Let us know what u decide.

Jeez guys!!! Seems I was aimlessly wandering around NHC and Fiesta. Going by your reaction, Adventure wins all hands down ) Now all I have to do is test drive it! Btw, any idea of a Fiat dealer in Kolkata (increasing the granularity, in Salt Lake??)
Will keep fellow BHPians posted on my decision.

Cheers and thanks a ton!

Even Tata dealer should do for this car.

BTW, both Adventure and Fusion have 190mm GC compared to say 195mm GC of DICOR. That's quite impressive.

In fact Adventure can be upgraded to 205/70R14 (better ride) or 205/60R15 (extreme handling). It will look really butch in 205 wide tyre.
