Re: Buying a discontinued model at a hefty discount?

The only thing that irks me in this deal is the variant on offer. It's the top-spec car! Ones that are used as test drive vehicles. Otherwise, a VIN14(presumably) SX4 ZDi for the price of a Swift is a no-brainer.

Re: Buying a discontinued model at a hefty discount?

Best is to avoid.

Last guess would be a early 2014 batch SX4 as Maruti stopped new SX4 production post August 2014.

Also, you do not know if the dealer used this as a test mule.
Though the price is endearing, it is still not cheap.
Go for a "new" new car and enjoy miles of happy driving.

Re: Buying a discontinued model at a hefty discount?

Thanks all for your valuable suggestions. In the nutshell I conclude that I should not buy the car only if hefty dicount is provided.I should buy it only if I like the car. And even though i like it, the discount of 1.75 lacs on ex showroom is not good enough for a discontinued car. It should be at least in the range of 2-2.5 lacs. That means I didn't bargain hard. So deal is closed now. I am now going for Elite I20 Sportz (crdi) or Swift ZDI. Thank you everyone again.

Don't buy this discontinued model - My recommendation for the same cost or a little more you could buy the All New Fiesta, last time I checked it was VFM after the price correction!

I guess that nice kid Fiesta just went through a hefty price (up to 90K) increase again, whatever is in the head of those Ford guys, this again negates that VFM tag though the inherent qualities of the car still shines on and makes it worthy, for an enthusiast.
