Are you pointing at obsession? You mean to say RS is great at power and people drive it badly and bang it!

It is a bit of a paradox. You have the power but no responsibility (or the roads to drive it on). This equals to bang/crash. Otherwise which RS owner will let it go for 30-50% off in 1 or 2 years?

Mugen - Just saw a car for sale here in Delhi Oct 2005, 30k about 10.5-11L but the car is in absolutely immaculate condition. The rate here varies between 9.5-11.5L depending on the condition/mileage of the car.

for a couple of lakhs more - one could look at a civic. Not so much thrills but more peace of mine. My guess is that values will get depressed with this argument

Ajmat - Civic in Delhi is around 11.5L-12.25L depending on MT/AT version. What do you mean by couple of lakhs more than 12.5L? Or do you mean the Accord?

Ajmat, here in chennai anything which is considered 'luxury' depreciates slower.
